What's a speedie? You don't know until you tried one. When your in the state of NY you should a way to get to Binghamton, NY and try one! You won't be able to stop at one though.
I was so pumped that I decided to stop and try out this restaurant. It doesn't look like anything special just a tiny but tidy establishment. Well- the food rocked. The chicken was so tender and had that great grilled taste. And they have some of the best fries I have ever tasted. Good prices too. You could eat at... More
Binghamton, as it was last year, was a half way stop to eat and gas up if needed. We went to Ponderosa last year and this year on the way up, but that was more for nostalgia reasons as they do not exist in Canada for so many years. Their food was ok, so my wife wanted to try a... More
This is a little strip mall rib joint which is great! They specialize in "spiedies" (pronounced "speedy") and if you're going to Binghamton you need to get one. It's a regional treat I'd never heard of: marinated been, chicken, or pork grilled and served in a sandwich in a variety of combinations. Really great food cooked really well. I tried... More
Always a great meal. Wish there was more seating in dining room at times. Also should be a sign for newcombers on when to pay, I see a lot of people get a little uncomfortable when they reach for their wallet and the cashier walks away.
I have been coming to this place for years. The chicken spiedies are probably the best I have had anywhere. The sauce is very flavorful but it doesn't over power the taste of the chicken. If you go you may have to sit in your car or at one of the out door picnic tables, because the restaurant is very... More
Got to stop for a chicken spiedie sub every trip to ny. Quick and convienent and oh so yummy! They have an extended menu and something for everyone.
If you are interested in stopping for a quick meal, but are weary of the typical fast food stops, this is a great place to go. We stopped here one day on our way on a longer trip and realized that we needed to stop by here again and again (we often travel through Binghamton). The staff were incredibly friendly... More
This is a small bare bones place. You order off of a board I didn’t see any menus. I liked the food the smell outside the restaurant smells like a summer barbeque. This is fast healthy barbeque. The restaurant was busy from the time we got there until we left. This place could easily expand there is nothing I know... More
Spiedie is a Binghamton dish. Ya just gotta try it when you come to Binghamton. A Spiedie is a (specially) marinated chucks of chicken, beef or pork and grilled. I like mine on a salad. As a hospice nurse, I would take my orienting students and co-workers here every couple of months for lunch. :)
