We popped in here for a late dinner, and we were rewarded with delicious mac and cheese, good breads and awesome burgers, all in a dim, classy setting. If you're nearby and hungry, this is a solid option for sure.

My family and I have been here several times, usually for brunch. They have a nice spread here. The accommodations a quaint, but comfortable. The food is quite good. Great wait staff!

We love eating upstairs in the "loft." Never had a bad meal. Last time it was brunch for 5 of us (all adults) and every dish was wonderful. Beautiful presentation. Only small comment: I mentioned to waitress that I needed my poached egg cooked through enough that the white was not runny -- and it came slightly runny. Not a... More

I came here for brunch on a Sunday with friends and their two young children. Our server was friendly and they immediately brought items for the kids to occupy themselves with (and even 2 free toys at the end of our meal!). We had a good table for conversation and it was a lovely atmosphere in which to eat. The... More

We were very pleasantly surprised to visit Skinner's Loft for a family dinner on a recent visit to New York. The interior was beautiful- a tri-level loft that had been converted with carved wood, beautiful, unique luminary light fixtures and creative use of stylish candles and decor throughout the bar and restaurant. Dark wood paneling, mellow lighting and jazz music... More

I love Skinner's, it is a great location, nice atmosphere, and good food but like almost everywhere else in JC it is just a notch more expensive than you would think it should be. It is an excellent place to take your kids as they'll have crayons, and stickers to keep themselves occupied and they may even leave with a... More

The first time we went to Skinner's Loft, a friend had recommended it as being kid-friendly, so I assumed it was one-step away from a diner. (It is New Jersey after all!) Imagine my astonishment when we went upstairs from the bar into a lovely restaurant with an interesting menu and a very nice wine list. There is always a... More

This place is amazing. Excellent with kids, very friendly staff and amazing burgers. By far the best in JC. Brunch is always a hit. Tostado ranchera is excellent as are the sliders. For brunch they usually bring by a basket of biscuits / muffins which my daughter proceeds to devour in as little time as possible (who could blame her,... More

Service may not always be the best here but the small plates (definitely pricey) are delicious. The waitress provided a beautiful candle contraption for my sister's birthday but expect to pay a hefty price for bday cake.

Skinners Loft is a small urban gem. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is upscale yet friendly. I have eaten there many times and I am never disappointed.
