We loved "The Merion Inn". We went here on June 12th for my birthday. Although we probably could have gotten seated right away at this time of year, we made reservations. Wonderful atmosphere, great food and service. We split a shrimp cocktail and a salad wedge. My boyfriend had the end cut prime rib, and I had the duet crab... More

We finally made it to the Merionn inn on our last visit to Cape May and we were not disappointed with the A++ service and meal that we recieved. Dont be fooled into thinking that this is just a casual pub ( outside kind of gives you that impression) because this is a very nice restaurant with a great bar... More

Valet parking helped a lot. No need looking for street parking. Walk in and there was a piano player playing away. The tables are not crowded together so that we could all speak to each other. The food was good too. All around a great place. We headed to he bar for after dinner drinks and to enjoy the music... More

On the advice of our Inn keeper we ate dinner here. Unbenonced to us it was restaurant week in Cape May. They also have an early bird special (5:00 - 5:30). They only serve dinner. For $35.00 you get a 3 course meal. The selection was quite adiquate. Some places only provide a small selection for Restaurant week. Staff was... More

Enjoyed a great meal tonight. We stopped in and were surprised to see that they were offering a prefix menu (along with the regular menu) for restaurant week. I had the salmon with Asian slaw and wasabi mashed potatoes. It was delicious. The clam chowder soup and lemon sorbet were very good also. There were several choices on this menu.... More

After reading the recent negative reviews I was second guessing my reservation. Previous dining experience at The Merion, while several years ago, was a very positive one and I was puzzled by the negative reviews. Our party of six was warmly greeted. Our table was ready. Our server was prompt and welcoming. Mixed drinks were served promptly and well mixed.... More

The restaurant was recommended by the owner of the B&B that we were staying at. Great atmosphere at the bar, loved all the old wood detail. The live piano music was very enjoyable. Since we were on a tight schedule we decided to try their express menu which serves you your salad, main meal & dessert all together. We had... More

Second year we've stopped at the Merion Inn for a cocktail and snack at the bar. This year we tried dessert and it was exceptional. They had the local Bliss organic ice cream with a bread pudding that was excellent and the strawberry shortcake was even better than mine. Excellent bartenders and atmosphere.

I don't know how anyone can not say nice things about the Merion Inn. The food, service and bar have always been excellent. Expensive? I don't think so. Easter dinner for 3 was about $90.00. I spend more than that at Red Lobster, and there is no comparison. We have never had less than an excellent meal, service and bar.... More

Why does this place have such good reviews? It's one thing for establishments in this town to have Victorian era decor, but this place is dark and drab. I got the Filet Mignon based on Trip Advisor reviews. Oh well, it was tough and fatty, overcooked. The whole purpose of an expensive little filet is that you can eat the... More
