We asked for a reccomendation at our hotel for a place that was a favorite with locals, and off the beaten path. We were directed to Mame's. The atmosphere is lovely - an old house, with all the charm. Service was decent, but not too enthusiastic. Food was average - nothing that was terrible, but nothing that was special either....

This restaurant attracts more than it's fair share of rough characters. The menu is soooo outdated. The place is old & tattered, not in a good way.

Don't expect gourmet and you will be happy with Mame's. This is basic American fare, large quantities, and reasonable quality. You get good value for the price.

After some internet research, we made our way to Mame's on a snowy Sunday afternoon. Great decision! We were welcomed by the owner and sat upstairs in the Pub (full menu available) where our server, Mary, made us feel like we were special guests. My wife and I started with the stuffed mushrooms and they were fantastic. No heavy crumb filling just delicous, a must try you will not be disappointed.My wife had the steak tips I had mame's fish combo. Both were wonderful. Mary will make a great drink and make you feel right at home.Will Return!

NOV 2011-Called in for a beer and ended up staying for a meal and having a guided tour around the property by the owner....who also helped us plan a sightseeing route for the next part of our journey.

The building is beautiful with the brick exterior. The carpet REALLY needs to bwe replaced as it is the same as when I used to go in the 1990's...gross.. .... the food is very good and the bloody mary's are FANTASTIC. We love going for MOTORCYCLE RIDE AND STOPPING ON A SUNDAY afternoon for a bloody. Awewome
