The food is homestyle with a flair, the service polite, and the atmosphere is upbeat. Its reasonable priced, mostly.

The Mad River Tavern is a place I frequent regularly. And I almost always have a great experience. the reason I am writing this now is to share with travelers how fantastic the appetizer special is. Half price, everyday, even weekends. (I hope this doesn't go away) I often get the Chili (which is delicious and comes topped with cheese... More

Although many years ago, there was a change in ownership, the food and service is and always has been Fantastic. Ate there for Easter (yesterday), had scallops and no exception, it was Great!... We stopped after a lot of driving and very hungry. Place wasn't that busy, but after being seated and waiting a few minutes to be greeted, it became clear that this place was understaffed. Soon, however, we were greeted by who appeared to be the owner/mngr. he didn't rush us, took our order, made recommendations, and was very nice despite... More

Good food and great value on the way home from a day at Waterville Valley. We've been passing by for years and finally stopped after reading the other reviews here on TripAdvisor. The food was very good - we ate from the lunch menu but will be back for dinner some night soon. This is one of the better options... More
