Well, it isn't Paris, but the food is quite good. Reminded me of eating in a French bistro, if I used my imagination. Bouillabaise recommended.

Chez Leon closed this Spring, and I'm not surprised. The food had become very disappointing to mediocre at best.
Feels like a little bit of France and Leon is a gracious host.
My wife and I finally bit on the Groupon for Chez Leon. If I did not have the groupon I would have been extremely upset, with the groupon I was mildly displeased. The decor is cliche French restaurant. The food, while not bad, does not warrant the > $50 per plate ala carte price. It seemed that much of the...

This was our first trip to Chez Leon. The restaurant is located in Clayton, in a rather nondescript downtown store front. We had a reservation through OpenTable and were seated immediately on a not too busy Wednesday night. Waitstaff was plentiful (Kris took good care of us, but he was not overly friendly) and the restaurant is beautifully decorated.

A GroupOn spurred us to finally try Chez Leon. The prix fixe option (not available w/the GroupOn) would've been nearly as good our a la carte choices (or better even depending on what we ordered). The food was simply delicious - trout in brown butter was superb! Friendly waiter who was happy to make recommendations. Service was good (for us)...

If the waiters spoke French you'd think you are in Paris. The menu is classical French fare, expertly prepared and served. Prices are St. Louis, not Paris. Great place for lunch or dinner, with and/or without kids. The trout is superb!
Hands down one of the best French restaurants you can go to. As far as French goes, this is a great place for a good price. That does not mean it's cheap, but it's a deal compared to Chicago. The escargot is the second best I've had and I travel worldwide. I can't say enough good things about Chez Leon!!
I've eaten a few times and the last time will be my last. It's supposed to be a pretty classy place but when the owner drips the red wine he's pouring all over the white table cloth, my paper menu and bread plate and doesn't apologize or get me replacements.. really?? We were totally ignored by the bread guy even...
