The rave reviews brought us to this restaurant and boy, were we disappointed. Horrible service, we waited over 45 minutes to get our meal--it was good, but for the prices we paid, it was not worth it. Would not recommend, but the place was quite busy.

Came here for lunch with friends on a rainy Friday. Located in the hip Fondren neighborhood (where part of the movie "The Help" was filmed), the ambiance is cool. The bacon, lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich was a treat. This is a very small restaurant. The interior has been done up in vintage fashion and is pleasant. The lunch menu was diverse, but the evening meals looked at bit pricey and fussy if you were to take young children.

I went to Jackson for business on and off for a year and Walker's Drive In was my favorite place to go. Lunch is very good with a wide variety of sandwiches, salads and entrees. Light and rich finally come together in this heavenly but not sinfull dish. Big crab flavors and light buerre blanc strike the right balance.

We were not expecting food of this quality or menu with such interesting selections, what a great surprise. Not cheap but worth it!

On our way from IL to NOLA and spent the night in Jackson. Trip Advisor recommended Walker's as the best restaurant in town...WE AGREE! Monday night...glad we had reservations...very friendly staff and the food was superb! Had salads--both great and the tamales and crab cakes (from previous reviews) were outstanding!
