This is a very verstile place. You can go for a drink and bar food or go to their dining area for a great dinner. Not your average bar food! I had a great steak pizza with carmelize onions. They also have a wonderful beer list. Pages and pages of great beer.

This is my favorite place in St. Paul. I am a true fan of gastropubs and this one is the best. The menu is smaller, but the beer list is huge. Truly craft beers and wonderful food (the Duck Burger is one of my all time favorite items). Just know the place gets packed and a dining reservation is recommended... More

The happy gnome is the place to go if you are looking to taste unique beers. There are so many different options!! The food is also great, not your typical bar food by any means. I would consider the food more upscale, lots of seafood options. I have only been a few times, but highly reccommend for an evening with... More

We ate at the Happy Gnome recently, and I must say, the food was memorable. We had a selection of small plates and were happy with every one. The house-smoked baby back ribs were deep and rich and left a lasting memory. The paté was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Duck Drummies were light and delicate. The Poutine was daunting...and delicious! The... More

Best of both worlds, Bar downstairs, more formal dining room upstairs. You can order from the restaurant from both levels. My wife and I both ordered the duck burger. It was moist, tender and absolutely delicious. Reasonable drink prices, Huge beer selection. We also enjoyed the beef tartare and poutine. Thumbs up.

The american made draft beer variety is amazing. If they don't have a beer you like, then you're not a beer drinker. The food is inconsistant. The sandwiches are just "good". Their Canadian potato, pork, and cheese casserole is excellent. The crepes Suzette is amazing as well.

While looking at the menu, I thought the prices were a bit high. But the sandwiches we had were well worth it. I had a chicken sandwich, others in my group enjoyed a burger and rueben. None could finish and happily took leftovers home. The fries were excellent. They have many different kinds of beers for those who enjoy them.

The Happy Gnome makes me happy! There is no other way to put it. The beer list is incredible. Took a flight and wasn't disappointed.

Tons of good beers on tap. They even had a seasonal brew from Idaho that I haven't seen sold locally in Idaho. Nice atmosphere too - good place to cozy up in the winter

Did you clap your hands or stomp your feet twice? With some 76 different craft style beers and some of the most unique foods to enjoy, I would have to agree that the Happy Gnome is definitely "one of a 100 places you must have a beer at before you die", a rather amazing and worthy list to be added...
