We were hungry and tired and just stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad we did. Top notch service, the food was to die for... Fish and chips, and half rack of ribs... Fall off the bone scrumptious! Will def tell others about it!

Our waiter was having a bad day or he just wasn't that good. Forgot about the salad and it took him a long time to deliver the check (same thing happened to the table next to us). Not very busy. The Rathskeller is not to be missed, however (take the elevator to floor -1). Great selection of craft beers (the...

Came for an early dinner here. Shared a couple of house-made beers, a spinach artichoke appetizer, and a philly cheese steak. The service was friendly, the kitchen was really slow, the music was great (both live stuff and what was on the jukebox, mostly jazz), and the food was really good - the beef in the philly steak was fantastically...

Many people don't know about the Rathskeller lounge in the basement below Tycoon's. It is in the location of the old jail, the staff can tell show you some historical details if you are interested. If you are looking for a romantic spot to have a drink, conversation, or hide from people, the Rathskeller is perfect. Their food menu is...

Another “Eat Downtown” visit that turned into a surprise. While we have not been fans of Tycoon’s in the past the Gouda Mac and Cheese could be a game changer. Best Mac and Cheese ever! Crazy good! The service was, as ALL of the rest of their properties….substandard, which I feel seems to be a common thread in Duluth unfortunately....

I must like this place because I keep going back. The food is very good, the drinks are good, love the jazz and overall atmosphere. However, front of the house staff members need to be better trained. When we walk in the host just looks at us - no "Hello, welcome" greeting. So I wait and all she says is...

Love Rathskeller Bar (in the basement of Tycoons). Quiet, live jazz, great beer selection, unique ambiance as being the old jail of Duluth. Very limited choice for appetizers, but if you are just going for a drink it is a great place. Very relaxing.
Low lit, elegant place with great food and beer. The atmosphere here is much quieter than Fitgers, but there's a lot of similarities between these two sibling restaurants. The menu changes often, and each time they seem to improve it! Always, the beer is always excellent. And it's not too fancy for blue jeans. Just maybe not that pair with...

We have had trouble finding really good food on previous visits to Duluth. A relative suggested Tycoons as they had a good lunch there recently. We were quite pleased with our visit. We ordered 3 different selections at lunch and all 3 were excellent. Quality excelled, good value, and service was attentive. We will go back and highly recommend.
We went to the Rathskeller(basement of Tycoons) bar for some pre-dinner cocktails. It's an amazing space. Our bartender was very friendly. They could use an updated menu, and pretty much every tap listed was something different. They also had no cocktail menu, which was kind of weird. I would go again.
