LJs is like going back in time . no improvements in years but they do have excellant hamburgers. It is a friendly atmosphere but service might be a bit slow if there is more than 10 people in the place.

We went for the all you can eat fish fry for Good Friday. Fish was very fresh. Came with a salad and a side. Place was packed and the wait wasn't too long. Service was good. Portions were great too.
We stopped in on a Friday night. My husband really liked the pollock special. He thought it was better than cod. The other three dinners our family ordered were pretty average for the area.
We have a place in Higgins Lake and come here because they are willing to accommodate my food allergies. I never ask for anything outrageous. They are always polite & professional. This is a great place for food and/or a drink!! Food is homemade and the bartender is always friendly!!! It's always packed on Tip Up Town so be ready to wait a bit for your food, eat early and avoid the dreaded wait!!!
Our dinner took two hours- the french onion soup came after 40 min -coldish. The main dishes- salmon and chicken -were cold by the time they were served. Service was friendly and food was tasty, albeit cold.
Soups & salad are good and fresh. Great drinks. I liked the old layout without all the wall dividers, our friends say the same thing. Staff is always cheerful
They have an awesome French Dip sandwich. Waitstaff is lacking somewhat, not very attentive. Older ladies that have probably been waitresses there for the last 15 years. Loaded baked potato soup was good, but had to send it back to have it heated, as it came cold to my table. Like another person said, you definately can smell the stale...

I'd like to give this restaurant another run during a busy dinner time. We were the first ones to eat that night and was not real exciting. If you're a mushroom lover ya gotta try the appatizer! Ribs were good, perch was a little too greasy (we like sauteed).
The poster who described the deep fried mushrooms was right on, they are fantastic. I was a little suspicious of the cream of mushroom soup since the spoon would stand up in it but it was great as well. We had the club sandwich and burrito and they were both good but not as good as the mushrooms. We sat...
