Stopped by one evening in late April. Not too busy but somewhat full. Always like the sandwiches here and have enjoyed the soup on previous visits. Wish the price included the drink - few spots do this any more.- so it can get pricey. Bread is hard, but the inside sandwich contents are tasty and make it a feast. Chip... More

I used to eat here before it was popular (at least in my area). This was back in 2005. It used to be very empty. It was a hidden paradise back then. I used to come with a notebook for creative writing and gesture sketches of people who passed by outside. You have a nice wide view of the sidewalk... More

Although Panera is a go to spot for quick coffee and a danish, I hit it for lunch recently. Big mistake. I ordered the new pasta that they are featuring and a cup of potato soup - no beverage or desert. My tab exceeded $12. Too much for the quality and portion size, as compared to the offerings of other... More

I ordered the Pick 2 with the chicken noodle soup and the Greek salad. I’ve had the soup in the past, but today it was awful. There were minimal bits of chicken and the broth seemed to have bits of fats floating in it as if it hadn’t been strained. I had to force myself to finish it. On the... More

Being an Australian in the United States I find it difficult to find bread that meets my palate. At Panera Bread I am able to enjoy the kind of bread and food that I am more used to. There is a good variety of breads including multi-grain, rye, and wholemeal. They are generally light, so unlike so many breads that... More

I always go there for lunch. The food is consistent and tasty. However, it is always crowded and noisy.

Last summer, I took advantage of the lobster salad sandwich that Panera featured. Born in Massachusetts, I lived near lobster territory for the first 17+ years of my life, and New England seafood was a special treat. The sandwich, although expensive, was delicious and was worthy of the best lobster salads on Cape Cod. I got the sandwich several times... More

I used to love Panera, but this one in Downtown Silver Spring was very dirty (tables, floor, etc.) and chaotic when I last visited. The food tasted ... how can I say this ... un-fresh. Like overly processed. Like nothing was actually made there, despite appearances. I won't be going back.
