Enjoyed it, good food and service on a quiet Friday lunch. Liked the nice canal view. Menu had a good selection and price range. It was to cold to sit outside in mnarch but it looks to have a great outdoor setup for the summer visits. Recommend.

Visited this restaurant on "burger special" night. Probably wouldn't have had a burger, but it was the special of the night. We ordered medium rare and got extra well done( blackened). It really was a shame because everything was great ( appetizers, soup, service, and the house hole in the wall ale). We were offered something else because the server could see...

Excellent food , drink, and atmosphere! This is the best place in town for an intimate dinner or drink. The wait staff is the best around.
Lovely location, charming building, excellent food and drink, and fine service make for a very pleasant and rewarding dining experience at this restaurant on the Delaware/Chesapeake Canal. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the neighboring shops in this charming town, Chesapeake City.
This place is a welcome respite for a nice quite weekend dinner. Have been coming since 1990. It is a real gem! Nothing in Philly compares to it. Great ambiance; excellent drink selection; reasonable prices, and best Bloody Mary on East Coast--hands down. The Bloody Mary contains real tomatoes juice (high quality), fresh horseradish, celery, shrimp and is perfectly garnished....

The Bayard House is a charming restaurant located in historic Chesapeake City, which is open year round. The view of the waterfront is extraordinary from the large second floor window-framed dining area. The inner rooms are also quite attractive, but not as breathtaking. However, the outside patio on the first floor with additional inside dining is perfect for viewing the...

We heard about Bayard House from the innkeeper of the place we were visiting, and stopped by for a 7:00 p.m. dinner on a Saturday. The food and service were top-notch, and the building was a real treat. We really enjoyed the view of the canal during dinner. The food selection is largely seafood (not surprising), but the menu is...

Went with my spouse, brother, and sister in law 6 PM on a Friday evening. We were looking for a relaxing evening with some beer/wine/light fare. We were dressed nicely. As soon as we walked in the bartender rolled his eyes. The only table with 4 chairs was occupied and the space is very narrow, so pushing 2 tables together...

A last minute " Let's take a ride to the Bayard for an early dinner" idea!! We'll get a nice bottle of wine, ...etc, etc. I called at 8am. Saturday and got a 4pm reservation. Having been regular customers for 10+ years we have seen changes in chefs and some wait staff. We had not made the trip for a year...

On our last night in Chesapeake City, I wanted to get a little more dressy than the jeans I had been wearing all day. So I put on my more slinky shirt along with cotton slacks and off we went to the Bayard House, just around the corner from where we were staying (Ship Watch Inn). Another great meal! The...
