Description: Our story begins in France... Le Vieux Logis (The Old Lodge) was named for a famous inn, long known for its warm hospitality and fine food, a favorite stopping place for travelers in the beautiful Dordogne region. We hope to offer the same intimacy and comfort that brought fame to the original Le Vieux Logis, while re-interpreting its classic French cuisine for a new generation, combining its elegance and grace with American ingredients, ingenuity, and style. Bathe in the perfume of this French region! Imagine yourself surrounded by countless varieties of fresh fruit, glorious vegetables and seasonal culinary delicacies. My friend Marcel Montagnier, the esteemed restaurateur, opened our doors in 1980. What I learned from him, as well as from my husband, Jorgen Kolle, and my parents, Betty and Leon Zeiger, and from my brother, David, is that YOU, our very dear customers, are the most important ingredient on the menu.

There is a reason why this charming restaurant won Bethesda's Beauty Spot Award. Le Vieux Logis is a gem where the decor and ambiance create a setting that enhances the award winning cuisine. The classic escargot and fabulous short ribs shine in a menu that offers a wide variety of delectable choices. Diana, the restaurant's gracious owner, makes each guest... More

“Le Vieux Logis” has a delicious new menu. There are different specials for each evening. Tuesday night is “Fish and Chips” night. I really like fish but French fries are not my favorite thing. Diana suggested that I try the fish on a delightful tomato, mozzarella and basil salad (Summer Fish & Chips “Copenhagen Style.” As a frequent diner, I... More

My wife and I ate here (first time) Saturday evening. They are aiming at a French country atmosphere here in the exterior and interior decor. Salads were fresh and not over-saturated with dressing. Nice selection of breads. An obnoxious deep-fried gratis appetizer is offered. Servers were hard-working and efficient but waitress (the only one we observed in a very busy... More

We were ravenous after rehearsing for a show all day, and we decided to stop in at Le Vieux Logis despite our less-than-formal attire. Owner Diana Dahan greeted us heartily despite our somewhat disheveled appearances, and thus began another amazing dining experience at this lovely little slice of France in Bethesda. For the opening act, the crab martini and lobster... More

Here you will find a small French restaurant with Danish flavors intermixed that enabvles someone on a diet to dine and feel comfortable that the food will be tasty and healthful. Just let the wait staff know of your dietary needs and you will have a gourmet experience!

We dined at Le Vieux Logis and experienced a wonderful dinner. The atmosphere reminded us of a French or Belgian inn. There were flowers and painted china and hanging copper pots on the walls. As we had pulled up outside we noticed the murals on the restaurant. We later found out that they were scenes from owner Diana Dahan's childhood... More

Very ordinary food, and not as low-priced as they would have you think. I ordered calves liver, which I thought would be something special in this French restaurant but was no better than at the local diner or "family restaurant." It is very small and cramped. Desserts are nothing special.

Last night, despite the cold weather, we wanted to treat ourselves to a very good restaurant. My neighbor has been renovating her kitchen for one month now and it was finally finished. What better way to celebrate than eat in a restaurant she has always been curious when she drove by. The minute we entered the restaurant, we were greeted... More

I've been to Le Vieux Logis many times and it never disappoints! They definitely have the best escargot in town. I had the duck and it was fantastic. The food prices are not that bad for what you get. I see some reviewers leaving feedback saying how expensive it is, but they truly don't understand French food. The quality is... More

My wife and I, and another couple, had a nice meal at Le Vieux Logis recently. The food and service were both very good. The bill including tax and 20% tip came out to about $140 per couple. Between the four of us we split 2 appetizers and did not have dessert. And we each had a glass of wine... More
