Description: Guardado's serves up authentic, flavorful dishes from Spain and Latin America, in a casual and inviting atmosphere, in the heart of Bethesda, Maryland. We now offer Brunch on Sundays Chef Nicolas Guardado and his wife Reyna opened Guardado's Restaurant in 2007. Guardado brought with him a wealth of experience, rising through the ranks at local-area tapas restaurant Jaleo to a seasoned head chef. Now, he is infusing that knowledge into his own restaurant, as well as adding some popular Latin American entrees and some traditional dishes from his native Salvadorean background to Guardado's extensive menu. The menu ranges from robust entrees to tasty tapas to delectable desserts. Notable recommendations include Gambas al Ajillo, Papas Fritas, Pimientos del Piquillo, Tilapia y Camarones, and Paella Valenciana, to name only a few. Daily specials for lunch and dinner let you sample the mouth-watering cuisine from Spain to countries in Central and South America, at affordable.

This is a small place, perhaps 20 tables. Husband is the chef, wife runs the front of the shop. You will not be disappointed and do not be afraid to ask for suggestions as to what to order. They have specials and an email promotion program as well. Easy parking in public garage across the street. A true gem!

Clearly a local favorite. Bowl of cheese and olives. Sauteed spinach with oranges was tasty. Fried squid was good. Plaintain with cheese and chicken was a bit bland for my taste, but my spouse raved about it.

Cozier and much friendlier than its larger, pricier rival in town, Jaleo, and tucked off the beat and path in downtown Bethesda, this restaurant does wonderful tapas, entrees and more. Smaller does, of course, mean fewer selections, but it's a great place for a romantic getaway. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

I've spent lots of time in Latin America and Spain, and Guardados is a great combination of both. If you're looking for authentic food, this isn't it exactly. It's a delicious fusion of both, but if your heart is set on truly Spanish food, you may be a little disappointed. However, if you go in with an open mind, it... More

It's pretty hard to find authentic paella anywhere in our local area, but Guardado's is definitely one restaurant that fits the bill. It's best to call ahead and order it as it'll take 45 minutes to prepare from the time ordered. Although the 45 minutes can be sent drinking sangria and tasting their delicious tapas. I've been to Guardado's at... More

My wife and I were very excited about eating at this restaurant because we love Spanish food. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were very promptly seated and ordered a glass of Malbec (which was the best thing on the menu). After we ordered and received the gambas al ajillo (which were better than most), we received our chorizo... More

Looking for a casual, neighborhood spot? A small, family-run restaurant instead of one of the hip, crowded chains? Then try Guardado's. We felt welcomed into someone's home. The hostess and waitstaff were unfailingly polite and attentive. Our food was terrific. The paella is enough for 4 if you have a few tapas while you wait. Best sangria I have had... More

When ever we visit someplace new we always try to eat at a locally owned establishment. Looking for good tapas we decided to give Guardado's a try. The place is a cozy little place and looks like it could have been imported from Central or South America. On street parking is threadbare, but there is a public parking garage directly... More
