Since i had already tried a lobster roll, i thought i would take a chance and have a whole boiled lobster. it was just a plain lobster with some melted butter. trying to disassemble a lobster in that cold wind was less than entertaining, and trying to seperate the edible bits from the others was even less fun.

Stopped here for our first lobster roll on our trip up US 1. Excellent lobster roll-all lobster. You can request mayo on the side if you wish. Right on dock with plenty of tables to sit and enjoy the view and lobster

We tried Sprague's after Red's (the next day) and found we liked Sprague's better. About the same amount of lobster on the same size roll and still served cold BUT the lobster meat just had more flavor than Red's. Add to this the fact that the ambiance is a bit better than Red's and they hand cut their fries (so... More

Chose this over Reds Eats based on TA reviews. Arrived about noon on a Thursday and ordered immediately at the walk up window. Had to try the lobster roll @15.95. It was served on a toasted hot dog roll. No dressing at all - just lobster meat. We do not want fillers but a tiny bit of Mayo would be... More

This was our third lobster shack of the day...Sprauges definitely loads up on the lobster. The meat was fresh and sweet. Enjoyed siting on the dock and watching the clamers knee deep in the muck during low tide. Even got a tour by owner Frank while we were there.

If you don't have time to wait for the stellar gob-smacking lobster rolls at Red's, walk across the street and get one here. They have whole lobster dinners too, and all the usual Maine seafood items and sandwiches. The lobster roll is certainly good, but just not as good AS .... The Gifford's Deer Tracks ice cream, however, is the... More

Haven eaten at both Red's and Sprague's, we ask ourselves the same question year after year....WHY STAND IN LINE AT RED's?? The lobster roll, lobster and hand cut fries are just as good at Sprague's...walk across the street and try them for yourself! We have our lobster, sit on the water (not on the side of the road), have a... More

We decided to bypass the LONG lines at Red's and went across the street. We ordered, ate and loitered around while the people were still waiting on line had yet to order! The lobster roll had huge chunks of meat but my favorite was the crab roll...delicate with mayo on a buttered toasted roll - and fries weren't bad either.... More

I honestly don't know why anyone would wait in line, in the sun, for an hour and a half line at Red's when you could walk across the street to Sprague's, place your order, sit down, enjoy a beverage, and wait for your number to be called. We parked the car and picked out the last person in line at... More

Just pull up to the dock and enjoy a classic Maine experience. A couple of options for the lobster roll. Eat at picnic tables. Can be buggy (like much of Maine waterfront) so bring spray. I wish some of the small craft kiosks had been open during our evening visit. Across from Reds but shorter lines.
