Description: Jacmel Inn began service in June 1977 after six months renovation to the former residence that was built in 1888. This historic 2-story property sits on 2.2 acres and 9 blocks for the center of historic downtown Hammond. The lush landscaping, new patio, and the ample parking help make Jacmel Inn a culinary oasis worthy of a 60 miles drive from New Orleans. The menu has evolved over the years while always using fresh Louisiana Seafood, cooking techniques and dishes derived from traditional Louisiana culture and for 31 year serving great steaks from Iowa corn fed beef. Our executive Chef Doyle Orlando creates our menu, which evolves seasonally. Our dinner with a winemaker series is very popular with our customers for the past 20 years. Our ambiance is a blend of Caribbean, nautical and New England Inn. Guests will feel comfortable dressed casually or dressed to attend a symphony.

Took my wife to this resturant for Valentines Day. Food and service were outstanding and the atmosphere was terrific. It is a house that has been restored in the middle of town. The chef does a great job with his entrees.

My wife and I enjoy Jacmel Inn and have been going there for a number of years. On our last visit the service and food were good. It was a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was not busy. My wife order items on the menu that were not listed together and they were very accommodating. The risotto listed with the... More

All Jacmel Inn needs to do is demand excellence from their staff. Over the past year it does not seem the service is up to what you expect for the price you pay. I desire great service and do not mind paying for the experience. Management is not holding the saff to the standards they had at one time. The... More

The atmosphere is always great. We love the bar area and look forward to enjoying the patio when the weather warms up. I've heard it's pet friendly on the patio but i'll confirm before I bring our 160 lb great dane for lunch. Just recently had dinner. The scallops and risotto were amazing. My husband had a steak - it... More

We went there for a quiet dinner. We both ordered the steak medium. After we waited an hour for the food, the steak came out and was very well done. It was so tough it was hard to eat it. We informed the waitress who told us that the chef had a difficult time getting steaks cooked correctly. She did... More

Overall, this is a great place to eat. We occasionally have a less than perfect experience, but keep coming back. The food is usually very good, and service is generally good, too. Sunday brunch is very nice here.

We were a large group and the service was slow and that made the food less than hot. The food is well prepared and beautifully presented. It's unfortunate that being understaffed for a large group would compromise the experience. It was still a lovely evening and I would still be happy to return.

Located in Hammond in an old house gives this place lots of atmosphere. Tiny lights all over the grounds makes it lovely at night. We went in December and the ambiance was fabulous with fireplace flickering while dining on beef tenderloin and bottle of wine with my honey and another couple. Great place for romantic dinner, but also nice lunch.... More

We had dinners with friends and was throughly impressed with the quality and high execution of the food. The menu featured a vietnamese dish called"bahn mi" which is a vietnamese po-boy. How many fine dining establishments are taking a risk like this?I believe this shows innovation and creativity in Chef Doyle in keeping up with current trends in food. I... More
