Smoked beef belly says is all. Really glad I got that. We arrived via the free downtown trolley, were seated immediately in a charming corner table. The menu had so many unique things it took us awhile to get through it, and meanwhile the waitress was most helpful with the bourbon selections. I had an Old Van Winkle, 10-year I... More

I recently had a chance to try this wonderful restaurant. I was initially greeted by the warm staff and the chef himself. The dining area was very intimate and provided great ambiance. The cocktail menu was nice and provided an extensive bourbon and scotch list. I started the evening with a wonderful cup of wild mushroom bisque. I then had... More

Great food in a lovely part of Lexington, KY. Chef / Owner Cole almost just hit the right notes on all dishes we ordered. The lobster bisque with sherry - lots of flavor, texture & no fear of sherry! Panko fried avocado with Big Eye Tuna - creamy & crunchy texture was great but it overwhelmed the tuna. Maybe if... More

Coles, an American restaurant, is owned and run by Chef Cole who left an amazing culinary career in Cincinnati to open his own place in his hometown. Here you will find the finest quality and perfect preparation of classic dishes, steaks aged and cooked perfectly, fish so fresh, an amazing duck entry, etc. I have eaten here perhaps 5-6 times... I had the lettuce wedge salad, the tuna, and carrot cake. I felt so good after the meal. It was absolutely flavorful and attractively presented.

The best meal and service that I've ever experienced in Lexington. The NY Strip is the best that I've ever tasted. They prepared it mid-rare topped with compound butter and an incredible crust. My wife's shrimp and grits were fabulous. Our starters of fried avocado and pork belly were both amazing. Our service was incredible, especially Larry. There was also... More

Ate here with friends. Tried the shrimp and grits which was excellent- sides are additional and pricy- they are small and should be family size for the price. Would recommend Coles and plan to return-

We enjoyed the outing... it was pricey but everything was great. A nice wine list, and the service was excellent. The restaurant was packed (on a Wednesday) and the tables are a bit close together, but the noise level wasn't as bad as it looked, so no worries there. I had the sirloin, which was crazy tasty but grissly, so... More

My husband and I went to Coles for the first time this Friday night. It was an impromptu dinner out and the weather was nice enough for Coles to have their patio open, so we sat out there. We wouldn't have been able to stay otherwise because we didn't think to make reservations and the place was the most packed... More

We are locals and had heard good things about this restaurant, so we decided to try it. The food was very tasty and well prepared, but everything was ala carte, and they don't mind charging. The chicken was $18, one of the cheapest things on the menu, and nothing came with it. The house wine was excellent but $8.75 a... More
