By the time we stepped into the establishment and until we got our food and left, the attendant was pleasant and very helpful. She asked if we had ever been to Soulwich and made helpful suggestions on sandwich types. Try the housemade chips. They are awesome. I think I got it with the spicier seasoning on the chips.. not sure... More

If you are tired of the run of the mill Panera/Subway/Potbelly etc... Sandwich joints you really need to tantalize your taste buds and head to downtown Evanston and give Soulwich a try. Soulwich offers 8 core sandwiches and many of these can be customized by a choice of meat or veggie. I had the Indonesian Ginger BBQ steak which was... More

We heard good things about the sandwiches in this place. We took two sandwiches -- the vegeterian option (with seitan). Both were disappointing -- basically bread with (a lot of) seiten, a few pieces of cucumber and a bit of salty sauce to give it asian flavor. We also had the salad which had good ingredients but the dressing was... More

We got take out from this place while our teen boys were at a northwestern admissions session.  Got four sandwiches which they nicely cut into fourths so we could all try each kind.  Don't get the wasabi chips, they are quite bitter.  The burmese chips are excellently spiced and plain chips were nice and crispy.  The ginger chicken was the... Went here on our last day in Evanston for lunch before heading to the airport, I was blown away by the amazing taste of our food. My husband and I ordered two different sandwiches and both were just excellent, fresh ingredients and bursting with flavour. I got the Indonesian Ginger BBQ with coleslaw on the side and my husband had... More

I usually am able to grab lunch at work. When Soulwich was building, I had a lot of curiosity. After they opened, I thought I would try it. I loved it! It's quite unique, all the sandwiches I've had I liked. They make their own chips, and I like the seasoning, but be warned, the Burmeese is hot - but... More

This place is delicious! Everything is freshly made when you order and the service is very fast. I love their unique toppings and choice of veggie or meat fillings. Choices range from Thai to Indian to Indonesian and Singaporean influenced sandwiches. The bread they use tastes like it was just baked and is bakery quality. Serving sizes are generous and... More

I was very excited to try this place after reading such great reviews and sure was delicious. I had the coconut chicken sandwich, which had a great lightly pickled carrot/daikon on top, slices of cucumber, cilantro and a light mayo. The sandwich was huge and delicious. A great fresh alternative if you're looking for a more unique sandwich. Huge plus... More

Awesome amazing food. Three words sum it up but I can't stop there. It's a great addition to Evanston located on Orrington Avenue a few doors down from Church Street. My wife heard a teller in the bank across the street talking about theIR fantastic sandwiches. I came over and shared the big Indonesian Ginger BBQ sandwich, loaded with pork shredded... More

A friend and I tried the new restaurant, Soulwich, this week and were both impressed. It is a limited menu of salads and sandwiches. For the sandwiches, the menu lists the various sauces that go in each and you can choose to add pork, chicken, steak or veggies. They show which of these additions goes best for which sauce. We...
