Description: The first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, Grunts still exudes the funky, devil-may-care lifestyle of the 70s in its style, decor, music, and menu. Happily for all of us, the best eating of that day continues to be some of the best today. While there"s a huge menu that's as much fun to eat your way through as it is to read, many of Grunts' old favorites spark return visits. The burgers are arguably the best in town. The salad bar boasts more than 50 ingredients daily. Giant malts and milkshakes are hand scooped and come in a rainbow of favors. Oh! Don't forget the barbecued baby back ribs and pulled pork sandwiches!

This is a great casual place for a meal but also a fantastic place to just come and grab a milkshake. The milkshakes can be made with the normal milk option or with a low fat yogurt, which in my opinion, is even tastier. I recommend the oreo, it's absolutely delicious. If you are in the area - definitely stop... More

We took our daughter to the Lincoln Park Zoo and wanted a restaurant that was in walking distance so we didn't have to move our car and pay for additional parking. To be honest, this restaurant wasn't our first choice. We had planned to visit Chicago Pizza and Grinders, but it didn't open until later. So, I looked for other... More

The salad bar is the reason to go to Grunts unless you have kids who like milkshakes and hamburgers or tuna melt sandwiches. They also make a very good veggie chili, although it is what you can easily make at home. The salad bar is truly outstanding with many selections, many more than any other in Chicago except maybe the... More

From the moment you walk in, you'll notice that there are many photos on the wall. Just ask your server who the photos are of and they are happy to share with you. Grunts has a great soup and salad bar that I enjoy each time I visit.

The salad bar was by far one of the best I've ever had. With that being said the tables were waaay too close together. I felt like I was sitting with the people next to us. And forget being able to move between the tables. I was across from the salad bar, but I had to ga all the way... More

We had enjoyed this restaurant many years ago - at one point I think it was the best place in town to have brunch. Unfortunately, the standard has fallen considerably. We had brunch here this past Sunday and all the brunch consisted of was a salad bar - cold salad bar, and some half cooked bacon, chicken sausage that had... More

Had lunch at Rj Grunts. There is a good choice of food: my husband had the burger which was very good with homemade fries, I chose the salad bar which has a huge choice of vegetables and fruit, plus two different soups. The decor is very cosy. The waitress was very friendly, she even brought us a free desert! Perfect... More

We had fun. Its on our "return again" list for Chicago. Good burgers, interesting atmosphere and great service. Its small and cozy, plenty of atmosphere. And by the way the pictures of young women on the walls is not a collection of famous females - but the wait staff that served/s clients from today to yesterday.....very interesting! (they may have... More

I grew up going to this place. My mom and uncle love it. It's a small homey place with old-school decor, an amazing salad bar and really good food. The atmosphere is fun and laid back and the service is efficient and friendly.

I went with my inlaws for brunch downtown. The place was sentinmental for my uncle in-law as he used to frequent it way-back-when he went to dental school. The food was good - they offer a brunch buffet with different types of eggs, wuffles and a salad bar. The decor however hasn't been updated for years. many years. The chairs... More
