My wife and I visited Stone Mountain along with local friends. The area is beautiful and loved the carvings but there was so many commercial places selling food, toys, etc. that it takes away from the natural beauty. It was also a little dirty and large areas were fenced off to allow for grass to grow back in.

I am very torn between infatuated and disgusted with Stone Mountain. The good: It's a beautiful natural place; lovely scenery, a unique granite formation, well-presented museum. I enjoyed both the historic presentations at Memorial Hall and the geological presentations at Confederate Hall. The quarry exhibit and hiking trails are excellent as well. The bad: Well, it just seems to me... More

If you are looking for outdoor fun and a great work -out this is the place to visit. The hike up stone mountain was a great work out and the view at the top was absolutely beautiful.

Everything about Stone Mountain Park is nice! From climbing up the mountain(or by Gondola) to the laser show, everyhting to do here is way cool! Nature's best in metro Atlanta if you can believe! IF you are within a stone's throw of Atlanta, visit Stone Mountain and you will not regret it!

Two mile hike to the top but most people can make it with no problem. Elderly should take the ski lift. Great view from top. Worlds largest carving. Lots of things to do and see. Pricey for rides but lots of free LOOKING ! Kids love it.Lots of major nice golf courses.

When it's billed as the largest exposed granite in the world, I was expecting a bit more. This is JUST A ROCK. I can't keep from wondering how much radon might be emitted from it and the surrounding village that incorporates tons of granite in its structures and foundations and homes in the area that are surrounded by all that... Make sure to see laser light show and shops while visiting Stone mountain Park too. Very expensive to stay at hotel in park, but stay across street at country inn, pay only $5 to get in park.

I visited this park for the first time during the Christmas celebration. It is lit with over 2 million lights. And simply beautiful. Many snow activities including sledding and blown snow to make snowmen or just play I. The train is logs of fun. It travels around the base of the mountain while caroling. It includes a stop with the... More

After waiting over 15 years to come here, it was a very pleasant experience. Didn't have time to see the plantation or the newest show, but did enjoy the 4D Polar Express.

Once you go, you will be going back. Every season it is a different place. Clean, run efficiently, my top recommendation for what to do in Atlanta.
