Description: Back in 2001, a group of local businessmen got together with an idea to open a restaurant in the historic Southside Village which would focus on three things: Great Food, Great Service, and most of all, Great Times. Through the years Sam Snead's American Grill has become a favorite local gathering spot. We exhibit Sam Snead memorabilia supplied by the Snead family. We pride ourselves in offering only the best and freshest ingredients available. We prepare all fresh made soups and sauces, and serve hand cut Certified Angus Beef, which only a select few establishments are able to offer. We receive daily deliveries of fresh local produce, seafood and poultry and our prices and quality add up to value. We enjoy offering friendly and professional service, paired with the talents of our passionate management and kitchen crew for an outstanding Sarasota dining experience!

Took a small party there, staff was very polite. Made one small mistake on order and everyone hustled to take care of it, could not ask for more attention. Please was jumping on a Tuesday which tells me it is popular. Food was very good with the perfect variety.

Great bar and an all American menu in downtown Sarasota. We visited with a large group and loved the food and atmosphere. The crab cakes are terrific. Also loved the flat bread appetizer. We enjoyed sitting outside on a delightful evening. Great spot to grab a seat at the bar and watch your favorite sports team on the big screen.

Upon entering restaurant we were greeted and sat immediately. We had a great waiter and he was attentive throughout the meal. My husband I both ordered the 8 oz filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly however it had such an overpowering smoky flavor that it was all you could taste. We both ordered sauces with our steaks and that did... More

Great bar, great food, great service....if you want to go to a little more upscale place that isn't about beach attire...go here! You must try their crab cakes!

This feels like a country club with a very nice, wood-accented decor, and lots of golf art and memorabilia (naturally). The steak and seafood menu is very nice, and the items we had were excellent. The only sour note (pun intended) is the loud rock background music - it lowers the classiness of this restaurant experience. This whole Southside Village... More

I have dined at Sam Snead's several times however usually for lunch. We decided to try their dinner and treat my son who is in town. They didn't disappoint me. We were greated and seated by a lovely hostess. The waiter was knowledgable and polite. Even to listen to my gold stories. The food was VERY Good. My sword fish... More

My wife, mother-in law, and I dined at Sam Snead's several times during our stay in Sarasota. We dine out often at home and when we travel. Snead's is very-well managed, and it shows at the front end, service end and in the kitchen. Despite high demand (the place was always full), the front end managed seating flawlessly. They managed... This was our third time to Sam Snead's which tells you that I previously enjoyed the experience. This time the experience itself was also very good. I had the trout and really enjoyed the wood burning flavor. Service was attentive, even on a busy, crowded evening. We went with 12 other friends to celebrate a close friend's birthday and all... Dined on a Monday evening; five or six large groups of six or more which caused chaos according to a wait staff person. Service was sketchy; promised bread never arrived, lettuce past its expiration date; salad plates not cleared when entree arrived; steak not cooked to order but fish was excellent; server inattentive; pricey. Won't go back.

We have been there several times for lunch over the years while vacationing in the Sarasota area and the food and service are usually pretty good. The decor is very golf, but no surprise because it's named for Sam Snead, but it's tasteful and interesting. The flat bread entrees are very good and usually someone in our party orders it.... More
