Friendly welcome and good service. Great that they include a salad or chowder, when ordering an entree and their complimentary homemade bread is so tasty, even provided a second loaf when we finished the first. I had the excellent seafood platter (great scallops) on both visits, while my wife had crab cakes on our first visit (which she enjoyed) and... More

The atmosphere was nice and the service good. I ordered the cornflakes grouper was was very tasty. The dinner came with two very large pieces of fish that I found impossible to finish. The food was good and the prices were good too. I would go back.

The Timbers folks have been around a long time. Fine food and spirits with a great atmosphere keeps people coming back. We will be back for a fresh catch soon.

After many years and many trips to Sanibel, we finally tried Timbers. The décor is a little dated- think 1950's tiki, however the menu is very New England. Lots of tables around us were sending food back, however ours was ok. Not overly impressed with taste, unsure if we will be back.

We saved The Timbers for our last night in Sanibel and it didn't disappoint. I started off with their meaty, hot clam chowder and my husband had their crispy salad. I ordered haddock and it came with a myriad of fresh vegetables and.......do NOT skip ordering the fresh whole sweet potato! It was so sweet and delicious beyond compare! What... More

Ate here the last night of our trip, and honestly was the most mediocre of our meals on Sanibel Island. Service was fine, not great, not bad. Food about the same. Had a variety of different seafood meals and sides. Best thing was the side of veggies. Everything else completely unremarkable. Would not necessarily recommend or return, with so many... More

First note: We are 11 days into a 2 week vacation so have eaten out quite a bit here on Sanibel. Surprisingly, this was the first time a manager has stopped by our table. Thank you, Anja. We arrived before 6:00 so the early-bird menu was still available (13 dinners for $13). All dinners came with bread, chowder or salad,... More

This one of these "go to" restaurants. Atmosphere is good, there is a fresh fish counter and you can have a drink whilst you wait for your table. Invariably there is a wait but don't be put off, it's well worth while. When seated, the warm loaf of bread is brought to the table. Don't eat too much of it... More

Ate here night 6 of 7 night stay and must say it was the best meal of the week! Grouper Almondine (off of the Chef suggested section of the menu)...melt in your mouth...perfect... OMG! I've tried many types of fish, and don't care for any of it, and absolutely refuse to eat any seafood. However, I tasted grouper once (thanks... More

Every year, we have our final dinner at Timbers and have almost always been pleased. This time was no exception. I started with a caesar salad with anchovies and my wife had clam chowder. Both were excellent. My salad was crisp, the dressing good but not overwhelming, and just enough anchovies. Then came the petite fillets ... they were done... More
