Upon entering, we experienced the owner who was rude. The service was slow and we ordered one grilled lamb and on pasta plate. The lamb tasted like a dirty grille but the owner said it was great and that is the way they cooked it. Then he proceeded to make a scean and eat the meat directly off of our... More

Since this was our first visit, we decided to go when they opened. We were the first guests and the owner/chef greeted us warmly and explained all the specials. We shared bruschetta as an appetizer, which was beautifully presented and delicious. I had lobster and shrimp aurora and my husband had the salmon Dijon . Both were very good. Throughout... More

The manager/owner (not sure) brought over the entire specials display board and went through the whole selection for us! The food was authentic and delicious. My favorite restaurant on longboat key! Will be coming back for sure to try the lobster.

We sent our college student grandchildren here for dinner...brown Salads ...left alone...alternate waiter provided service when regular waiter nowhere to be seen...glasses always empty...dirty utensils...wrong change...waited for seating with at least one open table...we are very disappointed and have tried to support them in the slow times...now this is the thanks we get when business is good...a real letdown and... At Don Giovanni's, you can always get a good meal served by a friendly staff that goes out of its way to please. The menu is extensive, and there is a long list of specials every night, including salmon, sole, veal, chicken and pasta dishes. Garlic bread and a house salad come free with your meal. The tables are spaced... More

We were kind of late in regards to making a reservation in Longboat Key on Saturday night. We discovered Cafe Don Giovanni Restaurant. We walked in with no reservation and were able to find a table. Emilio, the owner, acted as our waiter. He was very pleasant and efficient. The food was very good and authentically Italian. The dining room... More

Cafe Don Giovanni is not a stereotypical LBK restaurant; the emphasis here is on the food. I said "real" in my title because American Italian food has become dishes that are drowning in pomodoro sauces. Come here for food that it generally cooked to order (obviously, osso bucco has to be prepared in advance), for a place in which you... More

It is ok, simple decoration but correct. good garlic bread. the calamar were overcooked. the sauce of the calamar was the same as used for the spaghetti Putana. not very original. Considering the average quality the price was rather high.

We ate at Don Giovanni's three times on a recent trip to Longboat and found it providing simple Italian food to a very good standard although I have to make it clear that we are not fond of seafood and have never tried any of the fish dishes. The pasta is always well prepared and tastes very good. The owner/chef... More

The food is excellent. We have been going to Longboat Key for years visiting family and I make sure to insist on going every time.
