You can eat outside on the dock during the warmer weather, or cozied up to one of their fireplaces in the colder weather. Love to go there for lunch. I usually order my favorite chicken flatbread sandwich, served with spinach, aoli, and other goodies. My husband cannot resist their coquille St. Jacque. We enjoy this restaurant in every season. We've visited the area several times in the last couple of years and we always look forward to lunch or dinner at Skipper's Dock. Our recent trip on Friday was no different. It was sunny & warm enough to sit on the deck so we did. Service was casual, yet top-notch & friendly as always. I ordered the grilled mahi... More

You would think in the age of trip advisor that restaurant staff would know better than to provide "bad, attitude filled, what are you bothering me for service"! As a lifelong female New Yorker in my 40s, I expect to get the attitude in NYC, not Stonington, CT! My fiancé and I stopped by Skipper's on a Friday at 4pm... More

I visited with five friends. We had a number of different things from the menu, although everyone did have seafood. The lobster bisque is excellent as are the coquilles St. Jaques. The setting and atmosphere is casual, but the food was great.

Skipper's Dock in Stonington Borough, Connecticut, is in a beautiful location with a panormaic view of Stonington Harbor. The food, however, is average at best. I have visited this restaurant thee times in hopes of seeing an improvement. Unfortunately, the food remains disappointing. The hamburger, ordered medium, was over cooked; the almond flounder special was drowned in butter. Better choices... More

The drinks can be really good; the food is touch and go; it sure is a great spot to dock your boat and if they happen to have music, let the party begin!

Went to Skipper's last night (Thurs.) for a celebratory dinner with my wife. Living in the area we know that most local restaurants are cramped and often noisy. Skipper's has a lovely, spacious dining room with plenty of windows through which we enjoyed the winter sunset. The seats were comfy and the fire was cozy. We started off with crunchy... More

Waited in line on warm summer day for over thirty minutes. Plastic chairs and table, paper napkins and plastic cups. Not high class, but prices are up there. Food average. The view of Stonington harbor allows you to relax and forget that the place is just average. Winter may be a better time to hold the staff to service and... More
