Went here with an Indian work colleague as he is familiar with the chain and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was fantastic and high quality - just watch out for the chilli pakoras, they bite back.

This is unusual to find a restaurant offering Udupi cuisine in this country. At least I have never seen one anywhere. It is vegetarisn snd differently spiced from other Indian food I have had. It is a modest restaurant where you go to the counter to order your food and pick it up. The Udupi are known for there Dosas...

Definitely worth the trip if you are driving in from out of town! It is right off Rte 9 though. The only problem I had was they don't have Naan bread:( Everything else is completely spot on!
We live nearby and love to stop in to get our fix of Indian food. The owners are friendly and there is always a lively mix of customers (especially after 7PM and especially on weekend nights!) Our favorites: Samosa Chat, Poori Bhaji and any of their Dosas! (although my personal favs are: Rava Dosa, Special Rava Dosa and Onion Dosa)
The ambiance is equal to a chopati stall with attitude of the person taking the order as if they are doing you a favor. The food is served on a disposable plate with plastic fork and knife with an attitude which wanted me to ask for my money back and leave. I was starving that is the only reason I...

We love visiting Udupi Bhavan as they have the best South Indian Vegetarian food in Connecticut. We are from India so when we visit the two Hindu temples in Middletown, we always stop to eat their fabulous masala dosa And Masala Utthapam. We bought a lot of take out food including upma, pongal, malai Kofta, saag paneer, lemon rice, tamarind...

My boyfriend and I adore this little place! The people are very friendly, the menu is enormous, the prices are low, and the food is always spectacular! We have been introduced to many new Indian favorites here, and keep coming back to try new things. We just had some leftovers for lunch today, and they were so delicious! It is...

First the atmospherics (or the lack of it)... tables and simple chairs, some of which you can reconfigure if your group is large. Order at the counter and pay, take your number... and wait, often a while, before your food comes out. Drinks, including the free pitchers of water, are in the self-serve cooler. A truly basic eatery...
But... the...

We love Udupi Bhavan and go there often - our favorites are the mutter paneer (peas & cheese), vegetable pullav (seasoned rice with vegetables), and the masala dosa (large crepe with seasoned potato). If you want to eat in, the thali plate is a great experience with lots of different tastes. This is just like the food we had in...
