This bar and grill has great, fast service and a good lunch menu. A very interesting place complete with live music(piano). A neat place with very pleasant servers. I had to take one of the "classy" T shirts home too. A fun place to visit.

We visited Grumpy's on 5/19/13 around 11AM. What got our attention was the excellent rag time piano playing. Going in, there was an elderly gentleman near the front door that was playing the piano. I purchased one of his CD's. He can play anything you can name from the rag time era. We were seated by a friendly staff. There... More

This is one of the more convenient restaurants in Silverton for tourists who have ridden the narrow-gauge railroad up from Durango and don't have tons of time before re-boarding for the return trip. Like many places in Silverton, it tries to give an old-time mining-town vibe, but unlike most, it actually succeeds -- the honky-tonk piano adds just enough color... More

Grumpy's is pretty good but not great or even "really" good. Its OK. They used to always have buffets that are pretty average and you get the feeling that they dont want to deal with the public too much. Which is OK by me. There are for sure better places in town and I'd try to find them if I... More

As soon as you walk in, you're taken back in time to the mining era, with the old fashioned decor & music. The piano player that could really tickle the ol' ivory. We stopped in for lunch, and all had burgers and a couple of beers. There were no complaints with the food, and the service was good, despite being... More

The fantastic piano player and the sense of history is what made this place attractive. The staff did an excellent job of providing quick service to the Durango-Silverton train passengers that descend on the town en-masse. The food was average - not bad, not good. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety and quality of music that the pretty piano player performed... More

French Onion Soup seems to be the speciality & made an excellent light lunch with local beer. It's touristy with a honky tonk piano player but that's fun - that's what Silverton is about. The décor alone, from when it was the hotel was one of the best in Colorado, is worth a look.

I wish we had picked another place to eat. First, there was no one to greet us, so we started looking around for a table. We got there and they stuck us at a small table by the tee shirt register. We tried to move when a 4 top came open, but was told by some woman there was a... More
