This place was not clean, and that automatically ruins my experience. The food was below par, and my burger was overcooked and the fires were greasy. I won't be back.
Our hotelier recommended this place; it was a Monday, so burgers and brews were discounted. The burger was huge -- 1/2 pound -- so my wife and I split it. With salad and a cup of soup, and pints of the local beer, the tab came in under $25, for a most satisfying meal. The place was 'jumping'; we had... More
Not knowing where to have our dinner after our roundtrip train ride from Durango to Silverton, my sister and I decided that the "name" of "Old Timers" (yes, I know, that's not the way the name of the restaurant is spelled) fit us to a tee! Upon arriving, we noticed the Monday special was the $5.50 burger. We discovered that... More
Sam at the EconoLodge told us that this place has the best burgers in town, and he was not kidding. On Mondays, one of their burger combos is only $5, and we expected an average size burger. Oh no, it was big, and the fries were excellent. Even though the place is a busy sports bar, it did not get... More
This place was just what my husband was looking for. He wanted a hamburger and they made his day. Was very busy as Monday night football was on and the Broncos were playing but they didn't make anyone wait. Wait staff was exceptional and burger was great. Skip McDonalds and Applebee's and go here instead.
After our bad experience Monday night, we still wanted Fish and Chips. Our clerk at the hotel recommended this place to us. Glad he did. Fun atmosphere in a funky old building. Great servers with tongue in cheek T-shirts saying "we cheat tourists and drunks". We got our Fish and Chips, and were they good. Not huge pieces of fish,... More
Nothing spectacular. The atmosphere is fun and lively. Our server was prompt and friendly. Most of the food was mediocre, and one of the people, in our party of six, said it was the most over-cooked hamburger he had ever had.
Cheap burgers on Mondays! I think they were like $4.99. Juicy burgers, served on onion buns with really great fries (or sub for potato salad, side salad). Everyone I was with had burgers, but I actually went with the cobb salad. It was delicious, and huge. Beers were cheap too. $1.50 for Bud, PBR, etc. Also have a few local... More
Locals told us this place had great burgers. Sat at the bar and from the get-go service was not so good. The place was really busy but we should have paid attention to the "uniform" which is a T-shirt that states "We cheat tourists and drunks". I can't for the life of me imagine why any place that is so... More
The food may taste ok (typical bar food) but sit at the bar and look around at how dirty it is! The dust, the spider webs...The grossest thing was watching the bartender make a bloody mary. The tomato juice is stored in a large mayo jug. Which looked very dirty on the outside. Really? None of them notice this and... More
