I found the restaurant by chance down a quiet lane just off State Street and was attracted to the quiet ambiance and a lunch menu that included lighter offerings with a French flavour. I ordered an excellent soup of field mushrooms with a hint of wine in the broth and the house pates. With a bottle of sparkling water and... More

Le Petit Valentin was an excellent choice for a special night out, with it's warm and romantic atmosphere and location. They offer a well thought out menu that samples some wonderful French cuisine. We were quite pleased with our appetizer and entrees, and pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices. The service was excellent as well.

This is the second time I have had lunch here. The first time I had some excellent French dishes and looked forward to returning. However, the restaurant now offers only a small Ethiopian menu at lunchtime on Saturdays and Sundays. From the Ethiopian menu this time, I tried the seared beef ($10) and a split pea side dish ($6). They... More

Le Petit Valentien is a Great French restaurant in the heart of Santa Barbara. Don't look for it on State St, the restaurant is accessible via the back alley. I had hen for supper, and it was easily one of the best 10 meals I had in my life. The staff was helpful and friendly, the service fast and courteous.... More

If you are looking for affordable French Food, this is your place. My girlfriend and I made a last minute reservation at Le Petit to get our French food fix . The restaruant is a little hidden gem off of State Street. Our window seat was waiting for us as requested. The place is nicely decorated with comfortable high back... More

The quality of the food and the very reasonable prices make this a great choice in Santa Barbara. The main courses were all $19 and varied from fish to duck to steak. I had flat iron steak, my wife had fish after we split an appetizer of mushroom crostini. Vegetables were side orders but reasonably priced. We each had a... More

We had dinner here on a Monday night, and the place got slammed. Totally full with only two servers. By the time we got our entrees, it seemed as if they ran out of side dishes - we had veal milanese over some spinach leaves - that was it. The French wine we ordered also was not very good.

We found this restaurant by accident and had the most marvellous Sunday dinner at a great price. The food is stunning and service excellent. A week later and back in SB we decided to visit again - another exceptional Sunday dinner

Booked a table for dinner at the last minute and we ended up as the last diners there but we were never made to feel awkward. They really know what they are doing here, from the chef to the waitresses who were charming. Really good value, a lot better in this respect than other places with fancier menus. They keep it... More

Being European our tastes are completely different to most in the u.s.a. We,ve found the food heavy but not at Le Petit Valentien. Our starters of red spinach and pear with caramelised walnuts, and a crostini of mushrooms set the pace. Followed by beautifully cooked duck in plum sauce, and pork loin in pancetta with a smoked fig sauce. Where... More
