Good menu, however very limited low-calorie, non-cheese fare. Good ambiance and wine list and easy accessibility. Just wish there was more grilled options than all cheese and non-whole wheat pasta selections.

I really enjoyed Capellini. The food and service were both very good. The bruschetta, antipasto, Caesar salad and veal piccata were all excellent. The bar was colorful and full of interesting people. Would definitely recommend.

Capellini is an upscale Italian Restaurant in the heart of downtown San Mateo. The service was excellent and everyone in our party enjoyed their entrée. I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant with the authentic wood burning oven in full view and the house Chianti was superb, always a good sign.

The restaurant was very nice, but our order came and was nowhere near what we wanted, and our waiter never came back to ask us how things were. The only time he came back was to give us our bill.

I have eaten at Capellini Ristorante several times during recent trips to the San Mateo area and it is an excellent restaurant! Great food and amazing service!

We have been here many times and food and service are always good. The gnocchi in meat sauce was yummy. They are willing to prepare your food any way you want-- like extra garlicky or spicy. Just tell your waiter.
