This place is my "Must Visit" every time we come to Monterey. Amazing food, reasonable prices, cakes to die for (by sampler, piece or whole to go). Casual atmosphere, friendly waitstaff & lots of locals. Something for everyone here!

Lots of menu options, great service, good value, cheerful atmosphere. We ate dinner there both nights.
Growing up in Monterey, we use to "cruise Alvarado street' in our souped up cars, as teenagers. Today, Monterey proper is a thriving business and tourism hub, where locals and visitors co-mingle with the smell of the sea and the warmth of the old spanish heritage. Rosine's is an excellent restaurant and very popular with the locals. We make a point of having at least one breakfast there every time we are in town. Portion size is large, so we often split our meal and add a bowl of seasonal fruit for an ample meal for two. The place can get very busy on weekend mornings,...

wonderful, helpful staff, fast service even if there is a wait. Great breakfast, sandwiches and soups but save room or go back for desserts, fresh huge cakes, so many choices, so get the 3 piece sampler !
have been coming here for over 20 years with my family, the food has always been delicious, especially the ministrone soup!!! talk about amazing!! the servers are pretty nice and the bussers are amazing!! also, the value is great here and the desserts are the freakin bomb!!!!!
Had pre marathon meal, not too impressed with the entrees although their soups are good. Place was cozy but really busy and packed. The wait time on a busy night is I thought acceptable for 20 minutes. I would go here for desserts more than meals.
This is a cute restaurant, and the food is excellent. There is a lot of it, so plan to box it, share or just beware. The french toast is amazing
This is like going to someon'e mythical mom's grandma's or aut's place and having her whip up whatever suits your fancy and cooked perfectly. The best turkey sandwiches, homemade soups, fresh green salad, and outrageous desserts. I get fat just thinking of it, and of course a glass of wine with lunch is just the thing when you're running around...

Get there early because it gets buzzing in the later morning. Great breakfast choices and huge portions. It's in downtown Monterey in a very scenic old block, I'd say about two blocks east of the Marriott.
