We love french cooking and went to the restaurant looking for some. The place is full on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is small and intimate but somewhat tacky. But, the tablecloths are plastic and ours is sticky. The food is fairly priced. The beet salad is good. I would get it again. The green salad look like it came... More

We had a very good dinner out at Moulin Bistro. We did find that the hostess had a bit of an attitude but our waitress was just fine. The onion soup was divine and the green salad was good. My husband loved his cannelloni dish and my salmon was cooked perfectly. We shared the fresh fruit cup with whipping cream... More

After reading the outstanding reviews about Bistro Moulin - perhaps I expected to much. Fair at best - arrogant owner or hostess. A total disappointment.

Moulin was recommended by a local, and we had a pleasant meal. Great little escape restaurant and a refreshing change from the usual tourist trap restaurants Monterey has on offer. Food and service very good, kind of bistro style service and food but not fine dining, but that's not what they profess to be. Small and almost perfectly formed.

Awesome as exepcted. I enjoyed a paella (although not French they did a great job of it) and my husband got the mussels. We both enjoyed our food and wine and will make sure we visit again next time we're in Monterey. I loved the decoration and atmosphere. It really transported me back to my home country. Be sure to... We loved it so much we came back the next night. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Philippe looked after us so well. A real find!

Food and Wine is great. Small place but felt like more locals go there than tourists. We had Escargots, Steak Bordelaise, and Moules Frites. This place is a nice place that's off the main road. No view but not needed. Will go back.

OMG! The food here is ridiculous! Crazy good. The serrano ham is a bargain. The spinach gnocchi is a MUST. We ordered i the gnocchi appetizer because it was touted as the Chef's signature. Dear Lord, we mopped up every bit of sauce we could. The Coq au Vin is uber amazing, incredible flavor. The profiteroles are some of the... More

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Monterey. The service is prompt and the atmosphere is like you stepped into a different part of Monterey. The food is excellent, especially the gnocchi. However, I will warn you that reservations are needed as it's small and often gets sold out.
