Was there with a group of friends for a social dinner. We were very nicely welcomed and escorted to our table. Our waitress was very pleasant ant attentive making sure our orders were correct and timely delivered. The seafood was out of this world. Their unique ans special fish ceviche is not to be missed. I could have just had... More

It took 3 tries to get a wine that was on the wine list that was actually available. They tried to make amends by giving us a complementary glass of wine that wasn't very good. Service was fine, other than not getting our wine until after the food was served, but the food was just okay. Two of our group... More

This used to be the premier downtown restaurant when Michael Cimarusti used to run the kitchen. We've been back more than five times since he left and it just keeps getting worse. Left the restaurant tonight after hosting close friends and I was almost embarrassed. Started with our salads, which were no better than average. The servers couldn't figure who... More

Had an early dinner with my partner over Memorial Day weekend. We ordered halibut, served on a bed of cannellini beans with small bits of chorizo. The fish was perfectly cooked and quite tasty. The beans were, frankly, tough. When I mentioned this to the server, she replied that cannellini beans are supposed to be eaten "al dente." Having eaten... More

We were staying at the Biltmore, and this was just a few doors away. We decided to stop in for a half-dozen oysters and a glass of wine before heading to our dinner reservation at Bestia. They had a great selection of oysters, and our server made great recommendations. Our favorite of the three different types in our sampler was... More

We had almost everything on the menu, and everything was delicious. It's a pretty safe menu, so you can't go wrong. Sea bass, cod, tuna, appetizers, all great. Try the toast with ricotta. It's so weird that it's on the menu, but it's surprisingly light and refreshing. One of the best waiters I've ever had.

It a bit hard to find, but there is valet right in front...don't waste your time looking for parking, because you wont find it downtown. My recommendations: The Oyster Sampler...12 Oysters from all over. Fresh, briny and delicious! My favorite are the ones from Nova Scotia. Have this with a Grey Goose martini. We each ordered a dish and shared..The... More

I would have given Water Grill 3+ stars if it was an option. Food quality pushed it to the "very good" category. I had three different business related meals there in the past few months. Service was a bit spotty, but the food was always tasty. Fresh seafood was very well-prepared, sometimes the entrees get a bit too complicated, i.e.... More

The mahi mahi was amazing! The salad and mashed potatoes were large, sized to split with another person. This was a great restaurant to end our stay in Los Angeles. I would recommend, without hesitation!
