My girlfriend and I tried this place on a whim, and it was the best random choice ever made. The sushi was as fresh as can be imagined. The only negatives are the price, portion size, and parking. Besides that, it's the finest sushi you can get.

Michelin agrees, and has awarded this fantastic restaurant a Michelin star for the past few years. Hidden away in a Studio City strip mall, you can't judge this book by its cover. The freshest, most delicious sushi and sashimi, as well as fantastic cooked dishes, make Asanebo my favorite sushi restaurant in Southern California. My mouth waters in anticipation if...

After going to almost all the big name sushi places in LA and many others abroad nothing quite adds up like Asanebo. The food is simply a notch higher than everywhere else and every time I venture away from this restaurant I'm left feeling disappointed.
They somehow manage to stay traditional yet creative without going over the top and the...

Can't believe this place took over my fav place, surgar fish, not too far from this location. I usually HATE ordering omakase or chef's special or what have you. It always ends up with a bad taste in my mouth and regret, even in places like Sushi Nobu in Beverly Hills or Matsuhisa or Spagos!
After ordering it, I began...

I just wanted to say real quick that I'm generally quite the food junkie so I go out lots. I do try to watch how and what I eat considering I'm also a fitness junkie. But if there's one thing I can't say no to, its sushi. Just about any time of the day. And I've got to say that...

All white fish and seafood dishes utterly wonderful. Delicious puddings and a great sake list too. A great find - especially as, like many great Japanese restaurants, it has an unprepossessing exterior.
Asanebo is one of those rare finds one falls in love with. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and provide explanations as needed. The sushi is out of this world. If I lived Los Angeles I'd be an Asanebo regular.
We went here on a whim after a day of driving around. We waited outside on the benches for about 30 mins, and were then sat at the sushi bar. What a treat. The daily specials (fish I had never heard of) were delectable. The staff is eager to give recommendations "Do you like yellow tail? Then I would recommend..."...

I came here after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp and I was really happy that I came. I called 3 hours before arriving at the restaurant on a Sunday evening and was able to get a seat. It is located in a small shopping area with about 15 parking spaces. I street-parked about 2 blocks away and walked to...

This is a great place! We always get the Omakase (the middle priced) and it is sooooo good! It is a small place, most of the time busy, but the service is very good. After a couple of visits, they remember your preferences- nice touch.
