Description: Known for manning the stoves at high-end restaurants Rex and Vincenti, Chef Gino Angelini is dishing out quality Italian fare at his own place. Even the most been-there-ate-that gourmand will savor the simple, yet sublime starters, from the paper-thin pizzas to the steamed mussels and clams bathing in a garlic-infused broth. Nonna Elvira's green lasagna is a dozen layers of bliss with blankets of pasta enveloping a mild cheese. Continue with a deliciously soft, moist branzino (salt-encrusted sea bass), or a pork chop sided with braised red cabbage. Desserts deserve special attention, such as a buttery mascarpone, or a scoop of vanilla gelato with a shot of steaming espresso.

Italian food respects the integrity of the food as a key to delivering a beautiful experience. Angelini owns this philosophy. Flawless presentation and perfect food delivers a supremely authentic moment in eating. Homemade pastas,..sick and rich.

We were visiting friends and they wanted to take us to their favorite restaurant. Good food; two of us split the Turbot; it was good enough, but not fantastic. Both husbands ordered the special liver dish which they both enjoyed. The bread and thin cracker bread are delicious. We started with stuffed zucchini blossoms which were out of this world... More

Great food, nice ambience...I'm from Italy and I can tell you I did not feel any difference, it was like being at home..all the servers and cooks were italian too, which is good.. however, they took 20 minutes to sit us and the hostess was very rude, which surprised me considering the location. Anyway, I definitely recommend it for the... More

Nice professional waiters, great authentic Italian food, high quality and class. From the pizza to the homemade pasta, desserts and wines, Osteria Angelini is for me, an Italian working traveller from Milano, a great restaurant to eat.

Last night we dined with friends at Angelini and it was great. We had been at Andrea at Pelican Hill the night before (also Italian and probably better in an absolute sense but also more expensive and ambitious in its style) so our Italian bar was very high and Angelini met the challenge. The food is simple (which should probably... More

If you ask me, this is the best Italian in the city. Elegant and understated, with simple decor and simple food, Angelini never fails to leave me happy. The lamb ragu pasta is a favorte of mine. The pizza are also crisp and delicious. And shock of shock, here is a resturant in LA that has actual waiters as waiters.... More
