Bernini's Bistro is a great little find. Excellent food - Wonderful presentation - great atmosphere - Very friendly staff. We highly recommend a visit to this restaurant!
We arrived too late at the Cottage Restaurant and they recommended Bernini's up the street. We sat outside and the waiter appeared right away. He took our order for trout and then brought our water. We sat for over 1/2 an hour and the waiter came out twice to apologize for the delay. We don't know why it was taking... More
Read about this on trip advisor. When we arrived at our La Jolla hotel, we asked the hotel clerks, valet, and concierge about this restaurant. No one had heard of it. Shame on them. Just a few blocks from the main village, on a very nice street, is where you can find this wonderful restaurant. Pretty indoor and outdoor seating.... More
This is one of the good and not-to-expensive restaurants in La Jolla. Three of us went and sat out on the patio with our small dog. I had the sweet walnut salad (delicious) and the other two had spaghetti. The service and the food were great. We'd go again.
This was our third visit. We have always found it to be a delightful place. Today was no exception in regards to the food (excellent as expected), but the service was very marginal, which seems to be the standard now for most restaurants. Our server (Michelle) was a pleasant young women who seemed to misunderstand the role of the server...to... More
Husband and I ate here twice on our recent holiday in La Jolla. Food is excellent with plenty of choice and lots of seafood dishes. My husband said the meatballs were the best he had ever had. Restaurant up from the center of La Jolla village and doesn't have the views that the restaurants in he village have but the... More
Fifteen scientists met at Bernini's to celebrate the engagement of a couple and listen to Clyde (also a scientist) play the piano.Everyone ate something delicious. Huge hamburgers were popular ..Bernini's Burger- 1/2 lb. of meat with sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce and fries. My husband and I had the Calamari Fritti- a calamari and shrimp platter served with two... More
We were recommended this place when we couldn't get into The Cottage because it was a 45 minute wait. Well, I am glad the servers there sent us to Bernini's because the service was great, we were seated right away, and got a nice table outside. Coffee was weak but the food was delicious. Order the spinach and brie omelet!
We had lunch at Bernini's while sitting outside on the patio. I had the veggie sandwich, which I recommend highly. It is a large sandwich on sourdough with melted cheese, peppers, and veggies of every sort. The sandwich is speared with a toothpick that holds a pickle and pepperocini in place. Yummiest. Patti had a chicken wrap that included most... More
They always cook eggs too high where there brown but runny inside. This should be the easiest thing to cook, finally gave up and found other places that cook better and listen to customers.
