Simply the best sushi in San Diego. FIsh comes fresh from Japan and other countries each day. The two sushi chefs are friendly and experts. It's almost a show to watch them with their knives. Tonite Kaito hand sliced a scallop into about 20 slices, thinner than potato chips. Fair prices, but get their early as the tiny place fills... More

First of all, the address Trip Advisor is not correct so hopefully they change it. The address is now 130-A N El Camino Real, Encinitas, CA 92024. It's in a strip mall a few doors down from Five Guys Burgers for frame of reference. I was meeting my friend for our weekly lunch/dinner and we always like to try out... More

We had a mixture of soup, sushi and chicken and rice. The tempora rolls were awesome as was the red tail rolls. It was a great place to grab some sushi and a Japanese beer. If you have not tried it check it out you will not be disappointed.

The Sashimi was excellent but the sushi led to a lower score. Kaito is a small Japanese restaurant in a very large outdoor strip mall. I would not rate them average but if you are going for sushi, then it would be good, not very good. It can be a bit confusing to find if you arrive a foggy night... More

the service was extremely slow ( few patrons in restaurant ) , but the food was awful. I grew up in Hawaii and have been eating sushi for 50 years, I would not recommend this place , it was so expensive and far below standard food !!! What a disappointment ! Look elsewhere for sushi !!

Small unassuming sushi spot. Traditional style and extremely fresh fish. Had Bluefin toro that melted in your mouth. DFR and Suncoast rolls were excellent. the Seared ono on top of the DFR roll was a great texture contrast to the spicy tuna inside. The Suncoast with pickled vegetables and scallions worked well with the spicy tuna as well. Staff were... More

Great place. Check out the chef specials for a group. Superb presentation and delicious eating. It is a place that you want to return to try other items on the menu.

We sat at the sushi bar, and enjoyed the specials of the chef. A luxury was the blue fin tuna sashimi. We had a good time, and all was exceptional.
