It might be a bit pricey, but it is worth every dime! Wonderful servoce, consistently excellent meals and lovely atmosphere. We go there at least every month!

Good selection of food and wine. Never been disappointed. The patio is great on summer evenings. Good people.

Great food. Need to expand (elbow room) cozy dining area. So nice to have a delicious and relaxing little corner of the world to retreat to now and again. Too pricey to go too often. Yum!

We stayed at the Railroad Park hotel on our trip down to San Diego, and were starving by the time we got there. Fortunately, Cafe Maddalena had room for the four of us (although it was busy!) and we got seated quickly. The food was excellent, and the wait staff were great. I'm only holding back one star for the... More

If you find yourself in the sleepy little town of Dunsmuir, you HAVE to stop for dinner at Cafe Maddalena. We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients and the service was exceptional! Be sure to make a reservation if you're going on a Friday or Saturday night as the dining room is on the small side.... More

A must meal once in your life! You need to dine here to know what I mean. And there's a big difference between dinning and eating! Wonderful food and amazing owners and staff. Four stars......

The food was surprisingly good for the funky little town of Dunsmuir. I had a fish dish that was made in a "fish and chips" style, but not the greasy, heavy style so associated with f&c. It was light and fluffy and delicious.

Dunsmuir is a little town where about 50% of the buildings are empty. There's a lot of old fashioned charming architecture, but Dunsmuir is not a destination spot. However, if you go, Maddalena's is probably the best dining there. It's small, with a big emphasis on fresh seasonal and creative recipes. We dined inside, but the patio dining looked very... More

Cafe Maddalena's lack of fame is due primarily to its location in Dunsmuir which is a charming town but not a big tourist stop. Many people drive right by it (or through it) on the way to Mt. Shasta. Maddalena has developed a small but faithful following over the years and anyone who eats there once will make a point... More
