A short walk from the village center, I had a nice breakfast. Sit in the patio area, if possible; it's not really an outdoor patio but is still comfortable.

We had breakfast at Walter's on a Saturday morning. We chose to sit inside, although most diners were out on the lovely patio. I think this made a little bit of difference to the speed of our service, since the same waitress had both sections, and she had to go back and forth between the two. Since the patio had...

Ate lunch at Walter's Friday, April 12 with a group. Everyone agreed the food was delicious. I had the Lamb Burrito ($14) which was a little 'too' Mexican with too much cheese and beans. The lamb was delicious and I ate the meat, leaving the cheese and beans. The Afghan fries are sliced potatoes, battered and deep fried. Very substantial....

We were taken by friends to Walter's for breakfast, and found the menu so interesting we returned the same day for dinner. Nice options to traditional breakfasts - I had eggs "Benedict" - but with smoked salmon (instead of the usual meat) and interesting spinach (Afghan influenced) topped with a light Hollandaise sauce. My dinner was delicious - a tandoori-flavored...

Family ate outside on a beautiful CA morning. Service and food outstanding. Loved the glass walled kitchen where you can view all the action.
Walters is a reliable breakfast, lunch and dinner choice. There are interesting choices, as the owners and some of the menu items are Afghan. There are other choices, hamburgers, scrambled eggs and pancakes, that are familiar, but there is always something different to try. Excellent luncheon salads. Try the Afghan fries at least once; they are twice fried, puffy potato...

great outdoor area, Food is good, not great, good location and parking in downtown Claremont. lamb shanks were really good.
Ate breakfast here. Our choices: oatmeal and french toast. The oatmeal was rather nondescript, but the coffee cake served with it was nice. The french toast was served with corn syrupy type syrup in little plastic containers (not very classy or tasty) and the egg that should have been cooked medium over was runny. The bacon was coffee-shop style bacon,...

We've had dozens of meals at Walter's over last five years, and, sadly, have seen it become mediocre at best and sleazy at worst, as explained below. At first we enjoyed its old-timey ambience (it was founded by the Ghafarshad family 40 years ago, and is something of a Claremont institution), and didn't mind the food being less than the...

Fresh, good food. Service can be spotty. THE best veggie omelette in the Inland Empire with steamed veggies. Great chutney. Great house salad dressing.
