This is a great place to go for a drink and a meal. When we arrived, we ordered two drinks - first of a few for the night. I had their feature drink for the night Toronto, a Bourbon mixed drink. Fabulous - one sip and I knew by the time I finished it I would have the nice mellow... More

I ate dinner at Revival once, and had dessert + drinks on 2 other occasions, during a 2 week stay in Berkeley. The beef cheek and duck breast were excellent, as were the desserts. The cocktails were rather unusual and interesting, and quite potent. Service was excellent - the staff were very friendly. The place was crowded on each of... More

Having eaten at Revival several times before going to performances at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre I can report that the service and the food are both excellent. The restaurant has a varied menu with daily specials often featuring local grown or raised ingredients. The sound level is acceptable, even to older ears which have trouble in noisy environments, read most... More

The Revival Bar and Kitchen is NOT at all what the name implies...It's a cozy, chic bar that seats about 200, by my estimation. There is a bar, but there are also many cozy tables in which to snuggle yourself and your friend(s). The atmosphere is friendly and invititng, unlike some "posh" bars and restaurants. The menu is eclectic. My... More

I lived for many years in Berkeley, and came for a family visit to Revival for Dinner. There were four adults and two teenagers in the party. We had an early seating, but the restaurant was quickly packed (due to diners who were going to be attending a performance at the Berkeley Rep. around the corner). All of our party... More

This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. My wife and I shared one of the charcuterie plates after learning that the restaurant butchered all its own meat and made its pate from scratch. We also split a tasty raw kale salad. (Of course we did. We were in Berkeley.) She had a butternut squash pasta... More

Love this place! Constantly changing menu (including the drink menu) Depending on what's in season, and what the local farmers have, including the meat. They list exactly where the meat and produce was brought in from. Fresh bright flavors, and since the menu is changing all the time I could go back again and again, (and I did). Can't wait... More

Revival is operated by a chef owner and follows the farm-to-table concept to the fullest. It even has its own butchery. The menu changes frequently and the dishes rotate. But there always is an excellent charcuterie platter. The night we dined it included smoked duck breast, country pate, duck liver mousse, mortadella, and pimenton pork rillette. The entrees may include... More

Having read the reviews here and on Open Table, we gave Revival a try for New Years Eve. We expected the food to be quite good and the service to be slow, but hey, it was New Years Eve, and we were in no hurry. They offered a jazz combo that night, and we understood there would be party hats... More

Three of us ate here New Year's Eve 12/31/12. We were originally seated next to the Family Table that runs parallel to the bar but the noise level there was ridiculous so we asked to be moved and wound up by the far windows. Unless you're with a group of screaming friends, I think placement is crucial to a good... More
