I've gotten the carvery dinner here several afternoons and have dined out here in the evenings with friends and families. Good high quality food and friendly staff for special occasions or day to day food.

We stopped here en route from the airport. It was easy to find with plenty of parking outside. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The decor is amazing and very comfortable seats, but what makes this place truly perfect is the food! OMG it is...amazing! We had chicken satay to start and I had chicken in a sesame crumb with maple cured bacon and pineapple and it was so tasty and succulent! My husband had cod and chips. We will most certainly be back here soon.More

We visited with 14 friends. The food was delicious and Kate the server was fantastic. We had there cheesecake and it was to die for.

Lovely place to drop in for food. Nice selection of dishes with a good selection. Staff member was very good and food delicious. Good for a quick meal if one is in a hurry. Easy parking beside also!!

Staying nearby so popped in for evening meal. Wonderful warm and friendly service from Kate and delicious food. Soup was excellent, burger yummy and filling and chocolate dessert delicious. Would recommend eating here.

Well, what a fantastic find this place was! I can't praise it highly enough!!! We went for a little shopping day to Carrickmacross. The weather was foul, so we sought food and shelter in this pub on the main street and I couldn't believe the...interior of the place! It looks like a nice pub from the outside, can probably be able to get some food here I thought...but...have you ever been to Las Vegas? Y'know the way in the Paris casino, you walk around the street of Paris inside, they have repoduced the buildings, bridges, houses etc...they've even painted the ceiling to look like the sky? And Caesars Palace, inside it's like you are walking around Venice? Well, this to me seemed like a version of this in Ireland. The interior was the best restaurant interior that I've seen in Ireland, for a pub!!! In a little obscure village!!! It was just so unexpected, like walking through the wardrobe to Narnia, like walking into the TARDIS!!! And, I just wish that I was aware of the place long before now, I think it should be promoted much more...this amazing interior. I firmly believe that people would travel from far and wide to come here. Anyway...the food. There's pub food and there's a bistro. I fancied something substantial and my wife just wanted a toasted sandwich. There was a delicious smell of carvery roast beef in the air, but on enquiring, the carvery dinners had stopped being served an hour before, but you could still place an order for the joint of the day and they'd bring it to your tabel. I was hungry enough due to the delicious smell that I thought I'd take a gamble, but I thought I'd be served with whatever was left over from the carvery. Dreary, but a bit tasty. Like so much pub carvery food throughout Ireland. But now...the food that came was visually appealing, plentiful and absolutely delicious. Check out my photos to see how well prresented it was. My wife really enjoyed her toasted sandwich, twice fried chips and latte, all high quality and really well presented. The lady who served us, I think her name was Kate, was very friendly and chatty and nothing was any bother for her. But back to the interior. The detail in the place was really amazing, I really hope this place thrives as I think it is already doing as the phone never stopped ringing for reservations. So either pop in for a bite, phone early for your large booking, or, if you have time to sit and enjoy, come here for a few pints, some food, good company and enjoy the unexpected wow factor. Really enjoyed our visit here - A very pleasant carvery with the the best of friendly & helpful service rarely found. We’d be happy to return.

We ate here on two occasions in the same week. First time we had the carvery. The meat was very nice but the food was rather cold and the roast potatoes were not crispy. The staff are very friendly and Kate who looked after us...was brilliant. On the second occasion we had the normal bar food menu and we all enjoyed our meals. Overall the food was excellent.More

While visiting Carrickmacross last weekend 18th/20th Oct we stayed in a nearby hotel, very disappointed with the food on Fri night so we looked around on Sat to try somewhere else on that night and thought menu etc for Fiddlers Elbow looked great. We went...there that night of our wedding anniversary, and boy were we so happy we did. The building and decor and furniture are superb,and the service and food absolutely outstanding. The presentation of all our courses was exceptional and the food itself was fantastic, every course amazing, and the staff were so friendly and helpful, seen to our every need and regurlarly checked in with us that all was good, yet not in our faces all the time. Would like to thank all at Fiddler's for an amazing meal and a lovely night, and it was just a short walk from our hotel too which has foot path all the way, so well worth a visit to The Fiddler's Elbow.More
