Also took my family there --the food is sooo good it is almost impossible to describe. I can salivate just thinking about it.
The service is very friendly here. They make a good margarita but the food is just average. I tried their pork stew and it was so oversalted, I could not eat it. My husband had a sandwich and it was okay.
We had dinner here the night we arrived in Tubac, before we knew about other restaurants in town. The atmosphere is bar-like, and the food is adequate. The ribs were OK, the pork in green chile stew was good, but not exceptional. It's a friendly place for locals, and you can watch the basketball game there.
We ate here 3 times during out 6-week stay in Green Valley, AZ. Their menu is varied and we had the flatbread pizza all three times. Their burgers and appetizers were great too. The beer was really cold!! They smoke their own meat and the smell around town was wonderful. We ate outside each time. We were there at the... More
If you are like me, I can't handle being dragged around Tubac from one gallery to another. This trip was like others, I went with my wife and and another couple. Myself and my friend decided not to go with the women as they searched for treasure in the many nooks and crannies of Tubac. It was a nice sunny... More
We Tubac folk hang out at Tubac Jack's (noboby but outsiders call it "Old Tubac Inn") because it is so unpretentious. Artists, border cops, internet entrepreneurs, musicians and other fugitives from convention find commonality within its eclectic comfortable chaotic space. The food is great, especially the ribs and the service is prompt, but decidedly not obsequious. These people are our... More
My wife and I had lunch here in January. We sat outdoors, and there were no flies whatsoever, as one writer earlier indicated. Could be the time of year. The service was slow, but friendly. They tried hard, and apologized for the delay. I had the pulled pork sandwich with chips. The ample portion of pulled pork was on a... More
Having been to this restaurant several times in the past and wanting to give them one more opportunity to see if they have improved. Definitely they have not and will not return. Too bad as they are one of the closest restaurants to our home. The flies were so bad...we were eating inside...it was impossible to eat. They were out... More
I stopped there today for lunch with a friend on our way back to Tucson. The food was horrible. Our "pulled pork taco" turned out to be chunks of burnt pork (it was as if they had burned a pork chop and cut it up) with some kind of sauce on it that tasted a lot like sweet and sour... More
We have enjoyed eating here a number on times-the last in March of 2011. All items served were wonderful and plenty of it. We can recommend the Green Chili Stew as well as the chicken and the pork BBQ. Staff and service has been much above average We have had meals at most restaurants in Tubac and this is our... More
