I went here simply to try the Torta del Rey, and I wasn't disappointed. The sandwich has a lot to it, and it will definitely fill you up for a very good price. The place is simple and clean, the staff is friendly. Give it a try.

Food is always fresh and great! Every single time I had something very good. I love the agua fresca de fresa (Strawberry juice with cold water). yummie! It is somewhat crowded at night but worth waiting if you have to!
This place is awesome. I wish I lived in Phoenix, just so I could eat at this place more often. Delicious smoothies, fresh chips and salsa, and amazing sandwiches. Can't emphasize that enough. Super friendly, super nice staff. They get one knock on service because the waitress forgot about my juice order.
On our recent visit to Phoenix, my family wanted to enjoy some good local Mexican food. Little did we know that hiding in a little strip mall just two minutes from our hotel would be the best tasting Mexican food we have ever enjoyed. Unique in every way, there is a trickling wall of water behind its juice bar serving...

Our group went to the restaurant on a Saturday night at 7:00pm and had about a 20 minute wait. It is located in a strip mall and didn't know what to expect . . . until the first bite. Wow! I had a shrimp burrito. I t was incredible and very flavorful. I couldn't stop thinking after each bite how...

It seems you could spend your whole vacation trying the different sandwiches on the menu. The "Special" is enough for two people.
I don't have the abdominal capacity to try the big one, though. It could probably serve four.
They have a $1.00 shrimp tostada that is a treat and other Mexican foods are well presented and delicious.
No liquor...

This is the best mexican restaurant ever! Lots of choices, large servings , authentic atmosphere, very reasonable prices. We went for both lunch and dinner and were not disappointed!! You could almost miss it though, its tiny on the outside! but theres sufficient room on the inside.
I have wanted to try the tortas ever since I saw them featured on Man v. Food. It was not hype, the tortas are that good! I choose not to try the torta del rey since the menu said there were three types of meat, egg, and other topings. I was not that hungry. I tried another torta and it...

It was an adventure eating here because we had never been exposed to this kind of Mexican food. I was glad that I split my quesadilla order with a friend. It was huge! My husband really enjoyed a specialty non-alcoholic drink that he ordered. Quick service and good food made this restaurant a high-light of our trip to Phoenix.
This was my first experience with authentic tortas! They are enormous, so you could split or plan to take some home. I wasn't a huge fan of the potato chips they served with the meal, nor the bottled sodas you had to purchase. But this place is the real deal if you're looking for authentic mexican food. Friendly staff!
