Very consistent satisfactory service, delicious food, and the aroma of food makes one hungry while waiting to be seated. I have been to several Thai restaurants in other states, but since I've tasted Chan's Thai food, to me this is now my standard.

My wife and I have been in Juneau for 3 months and have tried many places around town, much of which are a disappointment. This place on the other hand, totally delivered. There is typically a wait for food, a wait to be seated, a wait for drinks.. wait wait wait.. But go, and endure the wait. It's better than...

i don't eat out that much but I like Chan's menu and food quality, and the owners and servers are a local family. No reservations, so at times you will have to wait. One of the best Juneau has to offer.
The green curry and Thai basil dishes that I tried were pretty unflavorful. I feel like I may not have ordered their strongest dishes, however, since I saw a lot of other people get the same plate that looked good.
Near Auke Bay harbor. Hard to figure out when they are open and often there is a long wait. Good Thai food and good sized portions. Small and cramped at times though. Some people are crazy about it.
I lived in Thailand for two years, so my standards are pretty high. The cooks are Thai (and very friendly) so they know what they are doing, but they've adjusted recipes for limited supplies and local tastes. For example, the food is not spicy at all, which would be unheard of in Thailand. Also the portions are three to four...

Chan's food is consistantly good. Everyone there is always so friendly. Waits can be long, so be prepared to wait, especially if it's a nice evening - or go early. Worth the wait if you like Thai food.
I went for lunch and had the yellow curry chicken. The dish was served with rice and potatoes and it looked better than it tasted. I read all the reviews on TripAdvisor and this place was a top recommendation from the local crowd and figured it pretty much has to be good. Either my taste buds were non-existent while I...

Had the seafood soup and red curry halibut. May be the best Thai food we have ever eaten. Service was slow, but that is because even the soup is cooked from scratch after you order. Atmosphere is very casual with various sized tables crowded into a fairly tight area.
One problem I have is that they don't serve beer. How can you eat Thai food without a Chang or Leo next to you? If nothing else at LEAST an Alaskan Amber Ale. The food tasted good though... it did have some slightly less desirable affects on us later but that can happen anywhere... Easy to find location. Parking in...
