Description: Mr & Mrs Bund – Modern Eatery by Paul PairetA modern French eatery. Relaxed chic atmosphere, heritage Bund location.Mr & Mrs Bund is French, in the manner of Chef Paul Pairet: born, traveled, and globally stamped. Contemporary, but not stuffy. Relaxed, without sacrificing an ounce of chic. We serve populist French favorites, through Pairet's looking glass. Service is family-style, recast for a modern table, and the wine list includes 32 wines by the glass. We riff on classics, we dish up comfort cuisine, and we serve it just like you would Sunday night dinner – sharing-style, and with plenty for seconds. It's a straightforward menu that takes simple French classics to start, and then let you add and play. Mash-ups: not just for potatoes and DJs anymore. Hours: Lunch: 11.30am to 2pm (Monday to Friday) Dinner: 6pm to 10.30pm (Sunday to Thursday); 6pm to 11pm (Friday & Saturday) Late Night Supper: 10.30pm to 2am (Tuesday to Thursday); 11pm to 4am (Friday & Saturday) Accolades: No.95 in The World's Best Restaurants 2012 by Restaurant Magazine UK, No.7 in Asia's Top 20 & No.1 in China by 2011/2012 The Miele Guide.

A very good experience. Fine French cuisine. From the amazing foie gras and its nutsy chutney to the perfect meat steak, we'v had a great lunch in a very nice atmosphere. The view is crazy. The dessert was our unique source of disappointment: profiteroles were not that good and the staff did not even make a difference between the nutella... More

We were fortunate enough to get a booking at mr & mrs bund on our last visit to Shanghai and WOW what an experience. From the fresh oysters through to the desert wine the food was first class. The Wagyu steak was superb, possibly the best I've eaten and the wine list was extensive with options for all budgets. I... More

We found the service sloppy and not attentive. Food was ok, but not amazing. Acoustics are loud and decor is modern. If you had a large group it would probably be fine because you'd be enjoying the company rather than seeing all the flaws.

As I was in Shanghai alone for work/study purposes, I didn't want to miss out on going to dinner at what is rated as one of the best restaurants in the city. The experience sure lived up to it. I was attended to by a friendly waiter who made sure that I was taken care of and not feeling lonely... More

Generally good food. However, this was a case of expectations being a bit too high and being let down by a few minor problems. There were many good points about the meal, but it lacked consistency. My partner and I went here on our 12th night in China. After two weeks of Chinese food, and with this place having just... More

Great place with good food and top-notch service. Check out the black cod! And visit the roof nightclub after your restaurant visit!

We were taken there on our first night in Shanghai, and wow what an experience. We subsequently revisited twice, once at lunchtime(excellent value) The tuna amuse bouche with thin toast was superb, the black cod with truffles ,the crunchy foie gras, the dressed salad with truffles and the scallops with ginger and dressing were all superb. The size of portion... More

Great place overlooking the bund. The food is interesting and original but the taste does not hit the right spot.

We love this restaurant, the food is brilliant, the restaurant is big and funky and service is pretty good. The menu is a bit big, there is a lot of choice but overall cannot fault it. We have been 4 times which is a record for us as there are so many places to go in Shanghai. The degustation menu... More

Mr & Mrs Bund is not for the people who just stare at the prices after opening the menu (visited it last time with a '''sophisticated''' fellow from the USA, pffff). It is for those who know food, enjoy examining every dish, making new choices and indulging their taste buds rather than the bellies :) Their events are so cool,... More
