Visited Travelbar, Calangute, on my 3rd and final night in Goa. Had already tried 2 of the, supposedly, best restaurants which turned out to be extremely disappointing. However, Travelbar was recommended to me by a food critic and journalist. I wish I had met her earlier. This was undoubtedly the best, not to mention by far the cheapest of the...

This restaurant is special in so many ways. After having eaten in too many of the multi-cuisine restaurants one finds all over the place, which are all pretty much the same, this was a very welcome change. A real treat. Travel Bar is one of the best restaurants in Candolim, if not Goa! The Continental menu is very interesting and unique and it offers something for everyone's taste buds. Both the name and the facade are deceptive -- it isn't a bar at all, but a full-service restaurant; the facade is nondescript, but once you're inside, you find yourself in a beautiful open-air setting.
And the food --...

this was recomended by our landlay Tania, really nice place, looks better from the inside, the front bit can be a bit off putting as it's near the road, however give it a try, the surrounding is a mixture of continential & traditional goan, staff helpful & a good choice of food & wine, expect to pay around £15 pp...
