It was a cold misty evening when we stepped into this little place. It was like its own world with a diverse clientele from all over the globe. We enjoyed the warmth of both the people and the room. Drinks were reasonably priced. A Canadian fellow with a miniature guitar provided surprisingly good music. Service was outstanding.

Great pub, great host, great atmosphere - a pub in India where you can relax without stares or dodgy men!

Feels like a proper English pub with "bangers and smash", and relaxed atmosphere. It does not have a set dinner menu,it is more of a bar with smaller entrees.

I have been there several times. It is a small place, but very cosy, you always meet other travellers there. Just a nice place to hang out in the evening and have a beer or so.

perfect place to have a glass of Port (or whatever u wanna drink) after a nice day in Darjeeling. Though the music was for my taste a little bit old-fashioned. I also have to say that I had no Problems with the behavior form the staff, though I travel as a woman alone ;-)

Great bar with great music and fantastic hosts and owners - Puran and Shasi -the gems of Darjeeling. The only pub in town, this is a small but warm and friendly place to meet local personalities and fellow travellers. Puran, sometimes called "Joey" by the Darjeeling crowd and vistiors, is a talented ,self taught, musician much admired- the "Himalayan Beatle" whose... More

Went 3 times in our short stay in Darjeeling. The bar staff were very helpful, moving seated customers around so we could get a seat. Even remembered that we had left a bottle of water one night and returned in to us the next. Good selection of drinks at resonable prices. Joeys father, who runs the place, is very hospitable and... Doesn't look like much from outside but once you there is a great atmosphere. Locals and travellers all mix together. Prices are reasonable. Even if it looks closed, knock on the door you might be surprised to find a crowd inside.

This classic pub, near the post office, is a great place to meet other travellers. It has sports on TV, warm rum and cold beer has a very friendly cozy environment. Joey's pub is probably the nucleus of Darjeeling's nightlife. If you relish a beer or a drink, you don't want to be missing out on the charm of this... More
