We went here recently with two other friends. We have been here several times before and enjoyed the food. The portions have never been huge here but the quality has been good. On this visit the food quality seemed to have slipped. On the positive side, the restaurant accommodated us on selection of where to sit. Also you can park... More

We ate at this restaurant a lot in the past. We haven't been back recently. I love the French bistro atmosphere and the fact that they recognized us as regulars, but the food was not that good. Via email, they advertised specials which didn't feel that special, and we haven't returned.

We have dined there at least 20 times over last several years. I have held off reviewing because it is the kind of place that ages like wine and likely so well known in area there isn't much to add. To be brief, I recommend reservations in the main room for dinner for the atmosphere. Also suggest that the classics... More

We both ordered the dover sole on special. It was mushy and tasteless. I can truly say this was the worst fish I've been served in a restaurant. My friend ordered the same and left the dinner barely touched. The waiter was indifferent, did not seem to notice. This is, however, an attractive restaurant.

Tempted by the Falls Church Restaurant Week offer my wife and I visited La Cote on Friday evening. We were greeted at the door by Raymond who owns the restaurant with his wife Lynne. The staff members were all in a pleasant mood, which then sets you in a good mood to relax and enjoy your meal, and we were... More

Good location for quiet, comfortable dinner, especially a special occasion without the pomp and glitter. Ideal for couples or small business meals, low noise level allows easy conversation. Food quality was very good, we tried the duck breast in raspberry sause and the chicken cordon bleu, both were excellent. For desert, raspberries in caramel and creme brulee were both great.... More

The Gold Coast. Bring a lot of GOLD if you want to eat there. Food was good, but the prices were outrageous. The night we dined, there were four persons in the restaurant. All bought the quiche, the only affordable dish. A tiny piece of quiche with 5 spinich leaves for about $17 a person. Dinner with wine can easily... More

La Cote d'Or offers great French cuisine , mainly on the provencal side. Husband and wife, the owners run a charming retaurant and offer an exceptionally well appointed wine selection. She charms the guests with her hospitality, and he with his palatable offerings. One suggestion, however: I would keep him in the kitchen and away from guest relations.

Very disappointing. The food was universally unimpressive. The pork and duck pate tasted like the liverwurst you would find in a supermarket lunch meat section. The fish fillet, despite a heavy cream sauce, was bland and flavorless. The curry lamb stew was okay, but I have had much better for half the price. The wine prices were an outrage. $70... More

We had lunch at this charming restaurant on the fist day of hurricane Sandy The weather was very unpleasant and I was surprised to see 4 or 5 other tables occupied by other groups. A group of 4 ladies were celebrating a birthday or an anniversary. The staff was polite and very nice. We were seated at our table. We... More
