Didn't eat here and won't after the rude lady at the hotels front desk treated us. I wasn't so interested in the steak challenge since it has such mediocre reviews but thought the hotel and restaurant would both be a fun experience for the kiddos despite the outdated and tacky decor of the businesses. First concern was the inability to... More

I had told family and friends that once I left Memphis for Colorado Springs that I was going through Texas to finally try one of those famous Texas steaks. When I saw the famous Big Texan Steak Ranch, I was surely expecting a great treat in a beef dish. The customer service was splendid through a bit "busy" (though the... More

The hotel called the 'free' limo. After more than 30 min we got there. This wasn't our first time, we would have gone elsewhere, but it was getting late (note to self, get there earlier). The server was new and did not know what the veg of the day was, or about the drinks, and was so slow that I... More

My son and I ate here while we were traveling route 66 by car in May 2013. It's basically a legendary route 66 place so we had to come while we were in Amarillo. We arrived at 4 pm on a Wednesday so there was no crowd to deal with. He got a medium ribeye, I got a medium-rare strip.... More

We ate here two years ago and definitely wanted to return. We had that opportunity again and it was even better. Our young server London was ultra friendly and made our lunch so pleasant. This time we ordered the steaks, not only for lunch, but to take to our next stop to heat up for dinner. The 18 oz T-bone... More

Went there for a dinner on busy friday evening, service is great, portions are big and steaks are delicious. Just be ready to wait for a food 20-40min, so if you are not in a hurry, perfect place to get real texan hospitality!

We had passed this restaurant up when we did partial route 66 last fall so this time it was at lunch time and we stopped and were glad we did. It is a theme park restaurant with good food. Service is fast and efficient Food is good our steaks were prepared just as we had ordered and all the fixings... More

Big Texan Steak Ranch, if you are on your trip of a life time along the world greatest road Route 66, then this is a stop you just can’t afford to miss, so pull off into paradise. To me it was like being a child again and going to a theme park, but you could sleep over, this is good... More

Went here for a free birthday dinner, which was nice but not great. Very noisy, crowded and I think over rated. A tourist place wit lots of hype over the 72oz free steak when you eat it plus a full meal if you can eat it in a short time limit. Plenty of parking in a large lot.
