First of all you should know the Unagi (Eel) is not cheap as well as Sushi, just in case if you don’t know. Have a budget 3000 yen at least for the top level in general. Hitsumabushi is the Nagoya style of the Unagi dish different from Tokyo style (Edomae). It was my first time to have Nagoya Hitsumabushi although... More

Horaiken seemed to be the most popular restaurant in Nagoya for tourists. There are 4 restaurants in Nagoya and this one is easy to find because it is near Sakae. Their signature dish costs 3,100yen but there were so many people waiting to enter the restaurant. The price is bit expensive even considering that this is Japan but I would... More

I never ate eel before coming to Japan - frankly, I was too scared. But since living here I have learned to enjoy eel and nowhere beats this place, that I know of anyway. Do not take my word for it. Go and check out the queues here everyday. I have now been here three times. The longest wait was... More

Currently the premium set is selling at 3100yen, the next would be 2500 set. If you order the premium set, there's a guide to show you how to eat the unagi. There's 3 steps. First is to eat it as it is. Second is to mix and eat it with the seasonings(i.e seaweed, wasabi ). Third way is to add... More

The queues are very long and if you do not read japanese, you might have some difficulty as their menus do not have pictures. If you are able to navigate their menus, i suggest trying their premium set. But at 3000yen, if you feel the pinch, then go for a simple unagi don set. The unagi is still very good... More
