During a daytrip to Colonia del Sacramento, the El Rincon is a good place to take a little break for a coffee or some other drinks. You will find it not directly in the old center of the city, so it is not completely full of tourists. You will be able to get a little quiet rest under old trees.... More

We recently returned to Colonia for a winter's get-away, and were surprised to find that one of our favourite restaurants, El Rincon was closed and the building partly demolished. We were therefore happily surprised when we rounded the next corner and met the owner Sandro, who introduced us to his new El Rincon cafe/restaurant. Sandro explained that with the various... More

We went to the corner restaurant opposite the river on more than one occasion and we were delighted with the views, atmosphere, food and the warm and welcoming owner Sandro, who took special care of us. It was great to have a selection of meats - the beef is perfect and the lamb is delicious - and to relax in... More

Our family thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous lunch in this delightful, laid-back little place. Greatest hits were the pork chops and the delicious sausages. Highly recommended.

We were very fortunate to be staying with friends next door to this restaurant, so we did rather indulge ourselves of going there on a regular basis, sitting outdoors having a glass of wine watching the magnificent sunsets, while our food was being cooked. Sandro the owner made us extremely welcome as did his staff, and the food was very... More

We sat down in a gorgeous table overlooking the small bay with the barbeque burning behind us. The main plus for this restaurant is definitely the views and the intimate setting (it basically feels like you're in the owner's garden but it feels perfect. I think you want to try and be at the "end of the garden" away from... More

We had read about El Rincon and found the outside dining spot to be beautiful, overlooking the water in Colonia. Surrounded by trees, but with a clear view, the food was excellent and meat cooked on the open barbecue in among the tables. Brazilian music wafted in the background. Sandro, our chef, prepared everything perfectly. Steak was great, and the raviolis... More

We found this charming little restaurant by accident at the end of the street heading west from the main square. Basically a "parrillada" - barbeque restaurant - the range of "cocina" (kitchen) dishes is limited. The menu is simple and reasonably priced. The staff were willing and attentive and service was quick. Guillermo - the parrillero - is great!! Cooks... More
